disappointed
I was completely satisfied with my original purchase of the Hale pet door. But after years of use I needed to replace the flap. I ordered the correct size that would fit my door, but it never fit as well as the original. Even after adjusting the magnets several times, there are always gaps for air and bugs to come through. $50 for a replacement flap that is poor quality is a huge disappointment. I refuse to purchase another whole pet door from Hale. I will be looking elsewhere.

No warranty on replacement parts
We love your pet door's and would rate you better if you stood behind your replacement parts with a warranty. We have replaced 2 sets of flaps on our door and feel they should last longer and be covered by a warranty.

Hi Maggie, The warranty on the entire pet door is 100% for the first year. The flaps are pro-rated in years 2-5 at 50% to 20% discount off the retail price. In 2009, you received the 40% (third year) discount when you purchased replacement flaps, so the replacement flaps that you purchased this year were full price. The 5 year warranty does begin again with this purchase should the flaps fail before the 5 years is up. I'm glad that you and your dogs like your Hale Pet Door. The flaps are the moving parts that the dogs use many times a day, so are subject to wear out. Exposure to full sun is also a factor in how long the vinyl flaps last. We have found that keeping the flaps clean (as you probably do) helps the flaps to last longer -- and look better. Thank you for your feedback. They give donations to rescue groups too!
I thought this door was expensive but wow! The quality is worth it. I was also impressed that they give a donation to the rescue group of your choice.

Perfect small door for my 2 Chihuahuas and cat.
My husband installed it. Seemed relatively easy. Dogs and cat use it to go into or fenced back yard. Would recommend it.

Wall Pet Door
Easy to install. Two of the four cats have figured out how to use it. It will be great once the others join!

Made potty training effortlesd
Love this idea. We're always of raid of the security issues with dog doors. No worry here. Just shut the door and lock it. Great for our family pet.
