We ordered the replacement flap kit and it was too difficult to install
We ordered the replacement flap kit and had such a difficult time replacing the magnets and weatherstripping. The existing installed weatherstripping was very tight and required channel locks to remove. Not a problem. The inserted surfaces on the weatherstripping were smooth. The new weatherstripping was even wider with "new and improved" ribs added. It was impossible to insert them no matter how hard we hit it with a mallet (per tech support). We ended up grinding off the ribs in order to install them. The whole install was so disappointing. We have used Hale pet doors for 22 years and have raved about them. Not any more. I dread replacing the next flap.

Bad support
I tried calling both numbers listed to reach hale pet doors. Customer service and sales number one rang disconnected, the other was always a busy signal.

The dog door installed was big enough to fit a Great Dane.
The installer told us what size door would need to be installed since our pup could grow to be 90 lbs. The size door that was installed is Enormous. Complete overkill but the hole was already cut when I walked In The room. Since installed the door has continuously lost the magnets that hold the flaps down. They did send us new magnets and told us how to repair the door but it is new and shouldn't it have been installed so the magnets didn't fall off? Not very happy with customer service.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I'm sorry that your Hale Pet Door appears too large for your pup. Perhaps he will grow into it. We do suggest that it's better to err on the side of larger than smaller because dogs can get repetitive stress injuries from using a dog door that rubs or hits their shoulders or where they have to squat to get through time and time again. When the dog doesn't have at least an inch clearance above its shoulders, it will make the vinyl flap hit the metal frame, and the flap will wear out or tear faster then with normal use.
