GuardsmanReviews of guardsman.com

The worst company you could ever deal with! complete rip off!! try every tactic not to pay out, I have waited 8 months , every excuse under the sun, every time you contact them you have to wait 10 days!! ....DO NOT USE!!

It's important to differentiate between Guardsman and the technicians that actually (eventually) come to fix your unit/device/sofa or whatever. They are not the same company so writing a review on how good the technician was is moot. In this day and age you expect laptop repair people to be able to fix laptops, that sofa repair people will do a good job and so on. This review is about the service from Guardsman which was poor and aloof. I wrote a review of their service when i first contacted them around October 2020. I reported an electrical fault on a sofa and was given a 3 week lead time for the repair. The technician arrived and said he needed parts. I wont detail the full story but the fault was a recurrence of a previous fault which i detailed to Guardsman...it would still require a technician to arrive, review the situation and tell me he needed the parts i had already told them they would need. After weeks of chasing for a repair date I stopped asking. I logged a complaint but received a letter saying I had no valid complaint. Skip forward to March 2021 and a parcel arrived at my door. It was a load of parts for the sofa. By this time i had taken the sofa apart and run some electrical repairs, so it was actually fixed. A month after this i got a call from a technician saying he could fit me in for repair. The job was finally done, 7 months after it was logged. From receiving the letter telling me that i had no valid complaint, i had received no communication from Guardsman until the technician rang me (who technically is not Guardsman). My last response was a "How did we do?" email a few weeks ago from Guardsman. So Guardsman, I may not, in your legal disclaimer eyes, have a valid complaint, but my God, 7 months to fix a sofa? with no communication? packages arriving without notification? If this is what you class as "Good Service", then you will never have a valid complaint. NEVER AGAIN!

I purchased a living room set (couch, recliner, entertainment center) in 2017 from Ethan Allen Jacksonville office. I had some damage occur in December 2020 and January 2021. I submitted a claim in February and was denied because it was out of the reporting window. I have filed a complaint with the BBB for guardsman furniture protection Ethan Allen sold me. Not only do they not respond to the complaint but they don’t answer the phone, return messages, and stay on hold for hours. Refusing coverage during the pandemic to an essential healthcare worker because it is out of the time frame is despicable. I didn’t have time due to working at Cedars Sinai, a 1000 bed trauma center in downtown Los Angeles, during the peak and also didn’t feel comfortable having someone in my home until vaccinated which resulted in delay of reporting. My protection plan provided by Ethan Allen does not have this disclaimer.

Guardsman the warranty company available for a large rug I bought from Overstock.com. When I made a claim, I was told the rug wasn't covered. I called Overstock and they said I was covered, but Guardsman said they would not pay whether from a flood (act of God) or plumbing leak (file a claim with your homeowners...um, copay?) They also don't pay if it's wear and tear. Folks, no one who reviewed them was paid. Act of God, not act of god, wear and tear, damage: No. You pay them, they keep your money, share it with Overstock and leave you in the cold. Don't bother buying it. THEY DON'T PAY.

Total waste of money! They just find a reason to deny your claim. They keep all the money you paid and refuse to help you in any way.

Don’t buy protection from GUARDSMAN. They are worst company and don’t even look at the customer problem. My recommendation is don’t even buy furniture from Strinhafel as they sell GUARDSMAN protection and they never solve. You will be wasting your money. Ashely is 100 times better than Steinhafel as their protection is 100% guaranteed. My furniture broke and it has been more than 4 months and no one has looked in the claim. It’s impossible to get to their customer service as you will be on hold for more than 2 hours and then finally will be disconnected.

Diabolical I had a cover with DFS as soon as the technican saw the stain on our sofa I knew he could not be bothered to spend time removing so took photos and ran out the door. I was then told 3 weeks later that they would not process my claim. Disgusting service and shame on you DFS for using these cowboys

I purchased a plan when buying a couch off Harvey Norman here in Ireland. Long story short, I had an issue with the couch 3 years into the plan. Lodging the claim and the approval process was very good and easy to do, then the problems start!!!! They sent what can be best described as a rogue trader or conman at best out to me. I had already got a quote of a reputable company for the repair but gaurdsman wouldn’t entertain this. I was aware of what was required because of this. The tradesman in question made my couch worse and couldn’t fill out the job completion form fast enough to collect his money. I’ve had to get the other company back to repair it professionally and they informed me if I left it, it was going to get worse because of his efforts. In my opinion save your money and avoid guardsman as their tradesmen here in Ireland are best described as conmen. Contact Shane at Walsh’s Furniture repair for a truely exceptional service.
