Same problem as others. Order placed and paid May 10/21. Sunpatiens have not arrived. Unable to contact by phone or email. It seems the only way to contact them is through a negative review. They appear to answer them. I've read the reviews and read their excuses. I'm not impressed so far. I hope this garners a reply. Order DCU1291145420. I'll be forced to contact PayPal very soon.

Allan, unfortunately that order code does not bring up any of our orders. Could you supply the actual order number, it is a 6 digit number? Since you have read all of my replies, I will not attempt to explain any further. Joe

Growjoy has exceeded my expectations again..
Growjoy has responded to the pandemic induced staffing crisis in innovative ways. Yeah, they're running late but their product is perfect, packed perfectly and grows like gangbusters. Show me another company where the CEO and all of the customer service reps are out in the packing sheds trying to get the product out the door. We buy from GrowJoy year after year and have never been disappointed in the quality of the product and the responsiveness of the staff. I wish I could give them more than five stars.

I placed an order on 4/21/21 that was to ship the week of 5/31/21. I have emailed them twice with absolutely no response!! My order status has showed processed since the day it was placed with no change in status or update on my order! My order # is 485560 and order code HMS3798722839 for 6 Midnight Marvel Hardy Hibiscis plants that should already be in the ground planted! If you can’t fill an order do the right thing and be honest... doesn’t look good for future business! This was my first experience and I’m not at all impressed with this company!

Hello PJ. I am sorry for the delay in your hibiscus plants. Because they start growing much later than most other perennials, we are looking to ship those around the first of July. They are very fast growers, so you will be thrilled with the once they are in the ground. Thanks for your patience. Sincerely, Joe

Order#490795 still waiting...
I placed an order#490795 for plants on May 11. I was looking to buy plants online and was very pleasantly surprised at Growjoy's prices. My order was supposed to ship out the week of May 30. Upon not receiving any shipping notification by the end of the week, I went to the website, and after several tries left a voicemail. No reply. Last week I sent an email and received one back stating that my plants were going to ship at the end of last week...or maybe sometimes this week.
Well, it is the end of the week and no plants, and no further shipping information. I sent TWO emails this week, Wednesday and Thursday, and haven't received a reply. Yet I get emails and text messages almost daily detailing plants Growjoy currently has for sale. I have pots and potting soil sitting on my small back patio (we live in a townhouse apartment with a small garden space in the back) and no plants. And I called around the local stores and everyone is out of vegetable plants. What I thought might be a pleasant experience has turned into a bad one for me.

Barbara, I am very sorry to have caused this frustration for you. It certainly is not what we are all about. However, with the severe shortage of workers it has delayed some orders, and your area is one that has been delayed. Your order is already in the shipping process and will go out the doors on Monday. Tracking does not populate till later that night, so I will follow up on Tuesday to make sure you received the info. Your continued patience is much appreciated in this very busy time. Sincerely, Joe

Delayed shipment and poor quality plants
My order for six tomato plants and four lettuce plants was placed November 28, 2020 for spring 2021 shipment. After shipment delays my plants arrived in such poor condition that I doubt they will survive. I am so disappointed with this company and their deception. I do not recommend them at all. My order number is 409924.

As I am reading these reviews
As I am reading these reviews, I am now also a victim of delayed shipments dates, unanswered emails, voice mailbox full etc. My order was missing two plants of which I apprised them of the missing plants - crickets from them.
Response from GrowJoyJun 10, 2021
Marsha, I am sorry we missed two of your plants. We are still all hands on deck to get caught up on orders, so that is the reason no one has yet responded. We will contact you very soon to make this right. Sincerely, Joe Stutzman, Owner of GrowJoy

I ordered my plants May 6 the shipping …
I ordered my plants May 6 the shipping date was May 30, I still haven’t received any emails regarding my order status, it just says “processed”. I’ve emailed three different times, no response. Called a few times, no one ever answers. Terrible customer service. All I want is a refund now and to go somewhere else.

Laura, I am sorry for the frustration we have caused you. I know my words may not mean a lot right now, but we will make things right with you. Your order is already in the shipping process so it cannot be stopped as we do not have the manpower to find it and pull it out. It looks like it will ship Monday and arrive Wednesday. You should have an email by Tuesday morning with a tracking number. Your understanding is appreciated in this very busy time. Sincerely, Joe, Owner of GrowJoy

Deceptive Merchant
All reviewers affected by Growjoy.com deceptive consumer trade practices may use this review as a template for complaint letter to the FTC. Simply replace my own dates and order details with your own details.
I placed an internet order on the website GrowJoy.com (seller) on May 10th, 2021 for three heirloom pepper plants and one heirloom tomato plant. My credit card was immediately charged $34.99 for a total of $25.00 for the order and an additional $9.99 for the shipping costs. The payment was processed via Amazon Pay. I was provided with order number 490300 and order code VCU0252474312. The confirmation email stated seller would provide tracking numbers and expected to ship my order the week of May 30th, 2021.
I received no tracking information the week of May 30th and the order was not updated to reflect that it shipped.
Based on the reasonable expectation that I would receive my order from seller, I spent $260.00 on supplies necessary to prepare to care for the plants, including new soil, soil amendments, mulch, fertilizers, foliar sprays, and a gravity-fed drip irrigation system.
On May 9th, 2021 I called the seller at the phone number provided on the website Growjoy.com and encountered a recording stating that all customer service representatives were busy, the voice mailbox was disabled, and to email Growjoy or send a message via the websites Contact Us feature. I sent a message to the seller over the Contact Us feature of Growjoy.com on May 9th, 2021 to inquire about the status of my order. I received no response. It is now June 10th, 2021, 30 days after the order was placed.
The Federal Mail or Telephone Order Merchandise Trade Regulation Rule 16 CFR § 435 was amended in 2014 to include internet orders. The law requires stores to ship telephone, mail, fax, & internet orders within 30 days. If the merchant promises an earlier shipment date, it must meet that deadline. If the seller doesn't ship within the reasonably expected time of the date provided, seller must contact the consumer to authorize a new shipping date or refund the order in it's entirety.
Since seller gave a conspicuous shipping date of the week of May 30th and it is now 30 days since the order was placed, and seller has made no effort to respond to calls or messages, nor attempted to contact me to authorize a new shipping date or a full refund, I find seller is in violation of 16 CFR § 435. Seller should be subject to FTC penalties for unfair and deceptive internet sales practices and disregarding consumer rights to fair practices.
Numerous customers have voiced similar experiences in reviews online for orders placed with the seller. Seller responded to review complaints stating he is in the process of opening a store in Alabama and was delayed by COVID and lacked staff to fulfill orders and contact customers. There is no notice on the website informing customers of potential delays and the website is still actively processing orders, deceiving and defrauding consumers. Seller was able to find the time to reasonably respond to bad internet reviews but has ignored customers efforts to contact him regarding their unreasonably late. Seller has also made no effort to halt the processing and acceptance of payments for promised orders that he has publicly acknowledged he is not able to reasonably fulfill.

Dear Lorri, I am so sorry for the frustration we have caused you. I am also sorry you never received our emails alerting you to the delays. I believe we sent out three different emails to customers who had upcoming orders that would be delayed. Your particular order of 3 pepper plants and 1 tomato plant is in the shipping process and most likely will go out the doors tomorrow. It can take up to 24 hours for the tracking number to be emailed, so look for that by Saturday morning. Again, I am very sorry for this delay. Sincerely, Joe Stutzman, Owner of GrowJoy
