We have a puppy that has allergies
We have a puppy that has allergies. So we took her to the Vet and he gave her a shot and prescription to treat the problem. Petplan Pet Insurance spends more time avoiding the claim and keeps requesting more and more ridiculous records. This is NOT the first pet that we had insured, so will be cancelling our insurance and going elsewhere.

Kenneth, We're sorry to hear about your experience but would be happy to provide some additional context to why the claim was denied. Looking at our records, at this time we have only an invoice history and then a health report/vaccination details which are different from medical records. A medical record history is required for the first claim in order to determine a baseline of health so that we can provide coverage. For some clarity about what medical records are, they are the vet's detailed exam notes and any lab results from each vet visit which all vets are required to take and keep on file. Medical records are not provided to pet owners after each visit with your invoices, vaccination/health certificates, discharge information, summaries or reminders, it is something that my be specifically requested from vets. If you call your vet(s) and specify that you need Maggie's medical record history, they will understand what is needed. You can then upload the medical records directly to your claim right within your online account. If you need any help getting the medical records from your vet, please send us an email at [email protected].
