Received estimate from Dennis
Received estimate from salesman, listed all furniture and boxes, told me he could get our move from $4400 to $4200, accepted bid. Well day of move truck showed up then another dude showed up and told me I had more stuff than listed. It was true I had 10 extra boxes but left three pieces of furniture off the truck, told after truck was loaded I had 300 extra square ft so need another $2000 to ship, then also charged me $300 for some paper and tape. Then another $700 at the end of the trip. So salesman who was less than truthful said he could move me for $4200 but the move actually cost was $6900. Salesman said they do not broker trucks….not quite true….Salesman knew of the $300 charge for packaging but still told me he cold delivery for $4200. I believe the salesman knew of the 4th person was going show up to strong arm you by telling you that you are over square footage with no proof or explanation. I really feel liked I got robbed, but live and learn. One broken 55 inch TV during delivery also. I am not even going to file a claim, I am positive they have an excuse for it. I would never recommend this company to anyone and needless to say I will not use them again. Go somewhere else they have a game plan its not in your favor, they missed my estimate by 67%

Sadly GGR has attempted to discuss the situation with the client who claims we were dishonest in our quote when in fact the documentation the client received and SIGNED shows that the client in fact did add more than 9 items to his move not noted or quoted to him in his estimate. The client had more goods he pays for more goods obviously. The client can file a claim for his damages tv but refuses to do so. If the client had not hung up on me during our conversation I would have been able to discuss what the client refers to as "brokering". Again he is uninformed and incorrect; I could also have explained the shuttle fee (which is discussed if one reads the docs) but he had hung up on me. While we understand the client was not happy when the move increased it increased based on adding items at pick up not included in his quote.
In reply to reply.
I am not going to stay on the phone when I am getting yelled at. I in fact had 9 more items, but said it was 337 square feet more, I say not a chance. It was 9 medium boxes 4 square foot each so 36 extra square foot but was charged for 300 plus extra square foot. Not arguing I signed the paper work I paid the price. I honored the contract so stop talking about the contract. Whitney said i could have had them unload the truck after I was up charged if I did not like the new price, but you are left with no choice. If you decline service when they show up I would have lost $1500.00 deposit. So my choice was lose $1500 and your stuff does not get moved or pay the extra $2000 and at least your stuff might be moved. The guy that added the amount was not even there for 3/4 of the load but was able to pull 337 square out of thin air. Whitney you lost your cool thats way I hung up let’s be honest here, your truck people and salesmen lied to get business and your sticking up for them. Go watch a move you will see. I stand by my review and would highly suggest no one to use this company. People please read the over 50% bad reviews all echo’ing my story. Unethical at the very least.
Whitney says in her reply, I again am misinformed and incorrect, I was giving an estimate from the salesman for $4200 and the total cost ended up being $6900 now who is the one that was misinformed and incorrect?
I am not claiming they were dishonest, I am telling you in my opinion and warning you they are dishonest. On the contract it says $50 in packing material but they actually charged me over $300 for that I would like a refund.
I did not file a claim because the 55 inch TV because the company would have offered me $12.00 that is per their contract of $6 per pound. (At some point you just stop letting a company rip you off)
My opinion is I feel like I have been robbed. Lesson learned!
Wow…..wow…..wow…..whitney edited first response which was correct 9 extra boxes, new response now moved to 26 the lies continue. I guess the true 9 boxes didn’t fit the deceptive narritive. Buyer beware. Luckily I copied and pasted and screen shot the first response please read above in my review then read the one just posted. Wow wow Do not Use. Filed a complaint with the BBB
Whitney and GG relocation please refer to job number 4574489. That is the estimate for my second of three moves planned. The estimate is for around $9000. Using the data from my first move I would expect that to go to $13k by the time you loaded the truck. This move will be going to some other moving company.
I will not be deceived again, this is what you lose when you are less than honest and unethical.

We did not receive the services promised
I am writing this letter so many months after the move because it took several months to unpack and repair the damages.
We paid for the white glove service and a dedicated truck, ($1250 each).
We planned a move from Chino, CA, to Lacey, WA, in May 2023. After doing due diligence, interviewing various moving companies, reading reviews, checking with the Better Business Bureau, the CA Department of Transportation, and a number of moving companies reviews, we hired Golden Gate Relocation LLC to move our household. Even though it seemed as if we picked a reputable company, we were mistaken.
Some of the issues: we contracted for a White Glove Package, and even though we packed over half of our belongings, the moving company was to pack the rest. That happened, but in a completely slipshod manner:
1. The job foreman was not on site for much of the time as he had at least three other jobs he was supervising. It would have been helpful if he had been there as communication was difficult as we are not fluent in Spanish and many of the workers did not speak English.
2. Items from several rooms were packed in one box. Actually, items from several floors were packed in the same box.
3. Boxes were unlabeled.
4. Items were packed in a haphazard manner (a child’s rocking chair was placed inside a lampshade inside a box.)
5. Liquids were packed that should not have been packed and soaked through boxes.
6. Two expensive paintings were placed in one box with no paper or any other wrapping between them, so the glass broke.
7. An oil painting has a small rip in the canvas.
8. We are missing items, almost too numerous to mention, but including a heavy glass shelf for a china cabinet. There were six; now there are five. We are missing a major component for our patio table.
9. We paid for a dedicated truck. When the driver who delivered the load had to leave our house to go to the warehouse to pick up “the rest of your items,” it was obvious that we had not had a dedicated truck. By definition, a dedicated truck means that the truck was to go from the old to the new house without a stop at a warehouse–the trucks were not to be unloaded.
10. Delivery was to be made before noon, per the driver. He called and said he would be late, arriving about 3:30 and leaving before 6:30 because, as he stated, “I need to be in Sacramento tomorrow by noon.” Not only was he late, he and his help put boxes in the garage, in a room–nothing they packed was labeled–and left. In fact, all the boxes were dumped in the garage, furniture was brought inside.
11. A large roll-top desk was placed upside down in the room.
12. We had to ask to have beds put together, and parts were missing. We had to ask to have the dining room table put back together.
13. A dresser had a leg broken, so we had to repair that.
14. An antique shelving unit was broken, even though the packers and I had talked about it.
15. When the supervisor put together our bed frame, he dropped part of it, creating a long scratch in the newly refinished floor. Another floor was also scratched.
16. Not only did we lose items, we inherited some, including a single bed box spring, and new picture frames.
17. Other items were disassembled for packing, but not reassembled, which was part of the contract.
We contacted the company and were told to go through their arbitration process. We did. We were offered $75,00 That is a joke. We had several thousand dollars of damage. At the least, we should be reimbursed for the services paid for and not delivered ($1250 each for the dedicated truck and the White Glove Package.)
In response to the reply just received from Golden Gate Relocation: Rated 1 out of 5 stars
In reference to the response from…
In reference to the response from Golden Gate LLC, we did go through arbitration. That's what we were told to do and that's what we did. So, saying that we filed a claim and did not go through arbitration is a lie. An absolute lie. The amount offered at the end of arbitration was an insult--$75.00--which does not even come near covering the damage to the new floors caused by the driver. This company not only does not provide the services they promised and that we paid an additional $2500 for, they lie. Not effectively labeling boxes they packed and then dumping the load into the garage instead of placing the boxes in the rooms where they were to go, is no way near the $1200 "White Glove Service" we purchased, and the fact that we ended up with possessions that belonged to other people is a strong indication that we did not get the $1200 purchase of a dedicated truck. The response we just received is a lie, a misrepresentation, and an insult.

Absolutely horrible company
Absolutely horrible company. I will advise against working with them. They’ve ruined or misplaced items inside my home and are now brushing me off to someone named WB who they are claiming isn’t available. My family and I will not become another victim to this company. We will not rest until something is done to help not only us but everyone who has been wronged by this company!

Golden Gate Relocation is a unprofessional company to hire
Golden Gate Relocation is a company that appears to prioritize financial gain over customer satisfaction. Initially, I was given a quote of $3,400.00 based on the items I intended to move. However, upon the arrival of the movers, the supervisor conducted a review of all the items to be transported. While I did add a few additional boxes, the increase in quantity did not warrant the drastic change in my worst-case charge, which suddenly escalated to $7,400.00. Even after deciding to leave behind a dresser and a few boxes, I was still billed the exorbitant amount of $7,400.00.
Subsequently, the movers attempted to deliver my belongings at an inconvenient hour of 12 am and demanded the remaining payment in cash before unloading. I requested they return the following day due to the late hour. Upon their return the next day, I observed that my large furniture had sustained damage during the unloading process. What was even more distressing was the harm inflicted on the drywall of my new home and the breakage of an interior stair light fixture.
The insurance provided at a rate of $0.60 per pound proved to be misleading and insufficient. The total weight of the damaged furniture amounted to 456 lbs, which should have corresponded to a settlement of $273.60. However, MovingClaims, the insurance company, offered a mere $75.00 in compensation, completely disregarding the substantial damages inflicted upon my residence, which I had to cover out of my own pocket for repairs. Despite three attempts to address the issue, their responses were dismissive, ultimately stating, "At this stage, our company's involvement has concluded."
Additionally, I was left with shipping boxes that did not belong to me and contained valuable items. In good faith, I reached out to the company to arrange for the return of these items.
If you are willing to risk being overcharged and potentially experiencing damage to your home, you may choose to book with Golden Gate Relocation. However, I am confident that you can find a more reputable and professional company for your moving needs.

We don't agree with this review. Please see below
1) The customer told us he 61 items on his signed estimate. He put 135 items on the truck. The customer didn't add a few extra boxes.
2) We showed up at 5:00, not midnight.
3) We haven't received any pictures of any dry wall
4) The customers was given the option for additional insurance but chose the 60 cents per pound option.
We love our customers and have no problem doing everything we can to make them happy however when you add more then double the inventory and claim you added a few boxes we can't work with you.

Movers were careless in handling items
Movers were careless in handling items, broke lamp covers. Upon arrival, things were missing, broken and severely scratched. Can't put up my beds as frames are missing. No apologies just fill out the claim form and wait 90 days for a decision. Some items were antics, boxes had fragile written on them but came with gaping holes torn in them. The final truck came with no lift, movers were handing the down from high back of the truck. Do NOT Use This Company. Hires friends, use a moving truck and load it yourself!

GGR is indeed sorry the client had damages at delivery and would encourage the client to file a claim for damages and allow us to compensate for her damages. The client DID receive the following text from our company as soon as we were advised of the issue. (04:19 PM
Good Afternoon oh no I am so sorry to hear of this. I am going to email you the claims process. I have also put in a request for the customer service manager to call you as well)

HORRIBLE !!!!…
First the salesman does whatever he had to to gain my business then blows me off.. extra charges when i asked if any other charges now im missing an antique roll up desk and it like no big deal to them. Absolutely horrible
Response from GOLDEN GATE RELOCATION LLCNov 17, 2023
We are very sorry about this customers experience. The customer was told verbally on his verification call and on his signed estimate and bill of lading about a shuttle fee. Every moving company in the country charges if the 53 ft semi can't get to delivery. The customer was being delivered to a storage unit. The customer could have called his storage unit and found out of it has trailer access.
We are extremally sorry about the customers antique desk. We are understand how frustrating losing a sentimental item can be. We offer all customers the ability to purchase additional insurance in the unlikely event an item is lost or damaged. We wish this customer the best of luck in the future
