Disappointed (not the brand name but the UK department only)
Very messy and unorganised online system, rude staff for telephone enquiries.

Don’t order Godiva to the gift. You won’t get it on time. They shipped mu order one week later and then I was not even able to cancel the order. It’s not reliable—-

Godiva's website is misleading in identifying delivery schedule as business days for all processing not calendar days. Additionally, the notification of delay does not appear until after the order is placed. An order placed Dec 4, 2021 did not begin processing until Dec. 6th then factored in UPS delays of an additional 7-10 days of which Godiva will not take responsibility for. Customer service, while pleasant, was "so sorry but there's nothing we can do" when I requested to cancel. Translation- nothing they choose to do. I expect better from Godiva!

Very unreliable delivery schedule. Although they give an estimated delivery time when you place your order, they do not notify you that a delay has taken place. You have to call and track down the information, usually accompanied by excuses that the delivery is the fault of FedEX or UPS. Hard to figure out how FedEx or UPS is to blame when it hasn't left the factory! This has happened on my last 2 orders....I won't be trying for a third time.

I loved Godiva so much and I’m so unhappy and scared that I almost swallowed a sharp pointed on each end, piece of black plastic about 1/2” in size. I ordered 5 nut and caramel boxes and have enjoyed them in the past! I was horrified when I bit into the caramel with some raspberry maybe in it, and the sharp hard plastic was easily noticeable in my mouth. So grateful it didn’t cause damage. I can’t imagine what would have happened if I swallowed it!! I can never eat it again. Frightened to death! And i see below that another review mentioned the sharp plastic piece too! I’m not sure what I should do. I have 3 unopened boxes I want to return and will. I haven’t called them yet as I’m so in shock and disappointed in my favorite candy! That is very dangerous! C. Ordered these for my 50th birthday as a treat and after reading reviews I was a bit worried. However I had no problems at all. Chocolates delivered 2 days after ordering and just as delicious as I remember on my 18th - in fact maybe even better!

July 9th, 2021 I called the Godiva.com customer service to let them know that I received a box of chocolates that reached the best by date of June 2021 and Asked if I can exchange it for a fresh box because I don’t want to eat expired chocolates and the store manager had approved the return then COVID shutdown happened and then Godiva stores closed. So I asked if she would be willing to honor the store managers approval of exchanging this box of chocolates for the exact same box with a later “best by” date And instead of being understanding, professional, and helpful She started to argue with me telling me it was my fault i didn’t exchange it sooner and she cannot replace it regardless what the store manager said bc it’s passed 30 days regardless of the COVID shutdown and started to raise her voice and ended up hanging up on me! Wow! I’ve been a customer of Godiva for 15 years and this is how they treat me! I was not even asking for a refund just simply a box of chocolate that are not expired.

Godiva makes delicious chocolate and I've been a loyal customer for decades. But, thanks to the pandemic, they realized they can sell purely by mail, and they've shut all their stores. Now they only offer the shrink wrapped, factory sealed boxes, a pre-selected variety pack. Customers can't custom order the selections they like. My family are huge fans of Godiva dark chocolate mints and salted caramel truffles. But we can't buy just our favorites, we have to buy a variety box. At $2.50 per chocolate I'm not interested in spending a fortune to get pieces I want. It's so sad. I'll never buy Godiva again. On the bright side, there are other superior high end chocolates that DO sell custom boxes. I suggest Ethel M.
