I have a GE Microwave that is 3 years old. 2 days ago it stopped working. The warranty ran out after 1 year. This is an over the stove microwave model JVM7195FL6DS. I think this is good reason why you should not buy GE products. There is no reason why a brand new GE microwave should stop working after 3 years. This was very expensive. I chatted with GE and they offered no assistance.

A warranty is only valuable if timely service is available when a product fails
ubject: Less Than One-Year-Old GE Dryer Suffers Major Mechanical Failure – 20-Day Warranty Delay
To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with both the quality of my GE dryer and the warranty service process.
I purchased a new GE dryer (Model GTD58EBSV1WS) from Best Buy in October 2025. Less than a year later, the dryer experienced a major mechanical failure. The rear drum assembly detached completely and fell into the bottom of the dryer, rendering the appliance unusable. I have attached photographs documenting the failure.
What is equally frustrating is the warranty service process. Best Buy informed me that all warranty work must be handled through GE. GE then referred me to Bodewell Appliance Repair. The earliest available appointment was nearly 20 days away.
This is in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, one of the largest metropolitan regions in the country. A simple Google search for dryer repair returns numerous companies offering same-day or next-day service, yet GE warranty customers are expected to wait almost three weeks for assistance.
As a consumer, this raises two serious concerns:
A major mechanical failure on a dryer that is less than one year old suggests a significant quality issue.
A 20-day wait for warranty service on an essential household appliance is unacceptable.
A warranty is only valuable if timely service is available when a product fails. At present, I am left with a broken dryer and no reasonable solution despite purchasing a new appliance from a major manufacturer.
I am requesting that GE:
Expedite my repair appointment.
Review the service capacity being provided through Bodewell in the Dallas market.
Explain how a major failure of this nature occurred on an appliance that is less than one year old.

Shady service, and Rip-off
Called GE services for a refrigerator problem and ended up at Bodewell customer service. Based on the symptoms, the customer service agent said the warranty covers 5 years of motor and that the service and parts would be included. I checked three times, and she confirmed.
But once the service tech arrived, he found a motherboard issue and stated a $700 price tag. Worst is that they double charge for the service - a $120 for the site visit and $180 for service, even though both were performed during the same visit within an hour. When I said I didn't want any service, he said he would charge $120 anyways. Completely different from what I heard on the phone from the CS agent.
I asked for a detailed quote/invoice, and he could not send one until I paid. Even after I paid, the receipt only included the full price and no service vs parts details. At some stage, he started yelling at me for asking clarifying questions.
I will never call GE customer service, nor buy any warranty. Shady service, and Rip-off. There are better ways to make money and run a business.

We paid $2700 for a GE model #…
We paid $2700 for a GE model # GFE26JYMWFFS refrigerator. 40 months in the compressor went bad. (Of course the 3 year warranty had expired.) The sealed component factory warranty is for 5 years which covers the compressor. Bodewell, their appliance service division refused to honor the 5 year warranty stating our purchase was not a "Profile or Monogram" refrigerator.
The compressor model # WR87X43805 is used in our model and the so called Profile or Monogram refrigerators. Then I was told there were no technicians in our zip code area. Will never purchase any other GE appliance.

Consumer Relations
My review is specifically on my experience with GE’s Consumer Relations. We have a vacation home in the AZ mountains, purchases in July 2025. The house has the GE Cafe series suite as does are primary home. In addition, we just purchased the entire Cafe Series suite for our daughter’s remodel.
The refrigerator is a large built in fridge which stopped cooling properly in approximately Feb. We have been trying to find resolution from February until this month.
the short story is that I called CS numerous times on different issues with the repairs and securing service in a limited service area due to the location. Not one person ever said that the issue was not warranted or might not be until the last Consumer Relations Manager who was rude and discourteous, stating policy is policy and how she wasn’t about to get fired.
Bottom line is that we don’t have an issue with the appliances. The issue is looking at the bigger picture, the value of customers, and standing behind your own products. I omitted many of the facts for keeping this review shorter. If customer service is important to you on costly items that have the potential to have issues, rethink your purchase.

I will never buy GE appliances again
I will never buy GE appliances again. We replaced all off our kitchen appliances 6 years ago and I have had nothing but problems with everything except the range. The refrigerator shelves are cheap, we have had to replace 3 and I have another one that is about to fail. The above range microwave just died a few months ago requiring replacement. I had to replace a part on the dishwasher about a year ago and now it is completely dead and won't turn on. Just ordered a replacement for that. I expect appliance to last at least 10 years with minimal issues. GE appliances are absolute garbage.

GE Profile Dishwasher – Repeated Spray Arm Failure, Leaks, and Floor Damage
I purchased a GE Profile dishwasher (Model PDT755SYR5FS) as part of a full GE Profile kitchen package in 2022. I replaced a dishwasher that had operated reliably for more than 20 years because I wanted a quieter unit for our open-concept home.
Unfortunately, this dishwasher began experiencing problems after only about 2½ years.
In January 2025, the wash motor failed and was replaced. At the technician’s recommendation, I also replaced the original lower spray arm because it had developed a wobble that caused noise. The original spray arm had a metal heat shield on the bottom of the spray arm and had never melted or leaked.
After installing the replacement GE spray arm (WD22X33499 without a heat shield), problems began almost immediately. The replacement arm repeatedly melted near the heating element, creating a hole that appears to direct water toward the bottom of the door. Once the arm melts, the dishwasher leaks from the lower corners of the door.
Since then, I have:
* Replaced multiple spray arms.
* Experienced repeated leaks.
* Suffered damage to my hardwood flooring.
* Spent significant time troubleshooting the issue.
* Reduced settings by disabling Heat Dry, Steam, and Heat Boost features - spray arms continue to melt.
* I am tired of cleaning dishes by hand.
Despite all efforts, the problem continues to return.
While researching the issue, I discovered numerous reports from other GE Profile owners describing similar failures involving melted spray arms, leaks, and floor damage. The similarity of these reports to my own experience is difficult to ignore.
The dishwasher is less than four years old, yet I have already replaced a motor, replaced multiple spray arms, and am now considering replacing the entire appliance. I need to hire someone to repair my hardwood floors.
I have two new OEM GE spray arms on order and will give the dishwasher one final opportunity to prove the issue. If those parts fail again, I will try to escalate to GE.
I will replace the dishwasher rather than continue investing additional time and money.
I expected significantly better reliability from a premium appliance. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this dishwasher.
If you have this product and experience this issue, please consider joining this the GE PROFILE DISHWASHER MELTED SPRAY ARM INVESTIGATION by Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith LLP (CSK&D). They are a leading national class action law firm which specializes in prosecuting complex federal and state class action litigation throughout the United States.
UPDATE:
Before replacing the dishwasher, I made one final attempt to work with GE Customer Relations. The representative I spoke with was friendly, professional, and took the time to review my concerns. Unfortunately, GE was not willing or able to provide a resolution that I felt was reasonable given the circumstances.
GE offered me 30% off MSRP on the current version of the same GE Profile dishwasher, plus a $150 delivery fee. After reviewing the offer, I found that I could purchase the same dishwasher elsewhere for less than GE’s “loyalty” price. As a result, the offer did not provide enough value for me to remain with the brand.
Considering that this dishwasher experienced a motor failure, repeated spray arm failures, leaks, and damage to my hardwood flooring in less than four years, I was hoping for a more meaningful accommodation.
At this point, I am researching replacement options and will likely purchase a Bosch dishwasher through Costco. Costco’s package includes delivery, installation, haul-away of the old unit, and a two-year warranty extension at no additional cost.
I appreciate the professionalism of the GE representatives I spoke with. My frustration is not with their customer service staff, but with GE’s response to what I believe is a significant product reliability issue.
