Had my blood draw with Function today and scheduling the annual labs was easy, and the appointment at Quest was great - close to home and didn’t take long to complete

It's rare you get a chance to look inside your body and truly understand what's going on. I paid for Function and went and got my first blood draw and got back my labs within a week or so. They give you A LOT of info back so takes a while to digest, but after I got my clinician notes within the app I was able to sit down and decipher my results with more clarity. Function uncovered heart biomarkers out of range that I had no idea about. I can make some subtle lifestyle shifts to get this back on track and I'm looking forward to seeing how these improve within my mid year lab draw.

I’ve been getting Function tests for three years now and they are a huge part of my focus on health. I’ve been able to bring down my “biological age” and manage early cholesterol and Alzheimer’s progression in a way that makes me feel far more empowered. I can test my hormones and cardiometabolic health markers and see so much more about my health than I would be able to with a normal doctor. It’s been a huge blessing!

I'm not impressed. Original tests required two separate appointments due to the amount of blood that needed to be drawn while second visit somehow only needed 1/3 the amount of vials. How does that work? Maybe that's legit but it seems odd. Never received results for one of the markers I paid for. The AI generated clinical notes were voluminous, but not actionable. Formatting of report was not good with the lists of supplements and foods attached widely spaced out causing the report to use multiple unnecessary pages. No guidance on results. It makes no sense to test this way. It would be better to find a functional medicine practitioner who can order the tests and then sit down with you to go over the results and determine a plan. This third party approach is not at all helpful. I regret spending the $$

The website does not indicate that you must use a Quest owned lab; third party labs don't count. They need to let you do a search of a lab first before taking your money. It feels like bait and switch. I live in Montana and the only Quest lab is 3.5 hours away. There is a third party lab I've used 1 hour away, but did not know AHEAD OF PAYMENT that this would not work for Function Health. Super disappointed that this is not clearly stated up front. The whole company feels like its built on AI with not one human! Needs more transparency.

Don’t go there - they try to use your info for money! Don’t even give your email they sell it!

Really Shockingly Bad!! First time I had blood drawn the analysis explicitly said my omegas were too high; yet recommended supplement was omega. When asked to reconcile Function gave me a complete run finally around landing on the square “ask your doctor”. Wait, a doctor ordered this test and presumably a skilled technician interpreted results so what exactly are you selling. Second time, which I assumed was follow-up, the bio markers tested were different. So in test one, no cholesterol and test two cholesterol at elevated levels. When asked to explain how the tests are not apples and apples comparison, AI assistant said, glibly if an AI assistant can be glib, we don’t always use same biomarkers. WTF. Absolutely awful experience.
