The function blood work possibly saved my life !! My APOB was very high which was a red flag to my cardiologist ! I ended up with 4 stents , 2 in the widow maker ! No symptoms just blood results ! The clinicians notes are very helpful and in depth to give you an understanding of possible things to monitor !

This is my first time having used Function Health, and it was a very poor experience. Six weeks after my second round of bloodwork was complete, I still did not have clinician's note. When I reached out about this, I was told that I should have already received them and someone would "look into it." No follow up. Several days later, I reached out again. This time, someone did reply and said "not to worry," if there was anything that required immediate attention someone would have already reached out, but I would receive clinician's notes within the next 3-5 days. Five days later, I finally received the clinician's notes, which notated one area that requires immediate follow up with a cardiologist. So why was this not flagged six weeks prior, when they had my lab results? Also, the clinician reference my "history of heart disease" multiple times, which I do not have, which leads me to question the integrity of their analysis altogether. I will surely not be using Function Health again.

Hi Rebecca, thank you for sharing this, and we are truly sorry for the experience. The delay in receiving your clinician notes, the lack of follow-up after reaching out twice, and most importantly, the inaccurate medical history referenced in your notes are all serious concerns that we do not take lightly. We understand why this has shaken your confidence, and we want to make this right. Please reach out to us directly at [email protected] so we can look into each of these issues with the urgency they deserve.

Multiple tests were unavailable at the time of testing and I was not previously notified, creating a need for me to reschedule. I'm not sure if it was really worth the cost, given the test available at my healthcare provider. There should be an option to load your current results and the test offered, customized.

Thank you for this feedback. We're sorry tests were unavailable at your appointment with no advance notice. We understand the frustration of an unexpected reschedule. Please reach out to us at [email protected] so we can look into this further.

I like the clinical opinions and connecting the dot approach. What would make it a lot better is to have reports stored as PDFs. I did figure out how to save them as PDFs but it’s a little bit of a trouble remembering how to do it. The way the website is organizing keeps changing as well as operating systems keep changing. Both clinical opinions and test results posted on site as a PDF would be great

I loved the whole concept of being able to do independent testing, and I was able to work with my doctor using the expanded tests beyond my insurance. While they did seem impersonal, some of the suggestions for lifestyle changes were meaningful. I was able to get my lipid panel improved significantly without medications using the suggestions. The deduct of 2 stars was due to the process of adding tests. At my mid-year testing I was offered additional tests specifically advertised as add-on. "Add on" to me means not included, so I ordered several additional tests I felt were important to check mid year. After I submitted my order, I was unable to schedule the add-on lab visit at the same time as my Mid-Year, while I was able to do this at my initial labs. This is how I found out there were duplicates of what I was already getting in my mid-year test. There is no way to cancel an order once you've submitted, and no refunds. So I paid an extra $80 and was required to schedule two lab visits to get the labs I needed for a doctor's visit. Add-ons offered when scheduling a test should in fact be tests not already included in what you paid for, it's like being offered an oil change when the oil change is included in your service package. This did sour the experience for me. Update: Function contacted me and offered to refund the duplicate tests which I appreciated. I would upgrade to 4 stars if this issue is fixed. The website should be able to distinguish duplicate test requests in one order at the mid-year point, this doesn't happen at the first testing ordered.
