Worst customer service
Worst customer service. I look at the airline website and know the fare is available but customer service insists on charging a fare difference nonetheless, naming random sums for different dates (see also previous comments). Calling them out of their inconsistencies (and the sheer fact that the fare is available on the airline's website), they get rude on the phone. When asked for the supervisor, they claim none is available. At the time of the corona pandemic, I very much doubt that is true. DO NOT WASTE your money. They are not simply incompetent, having supplied reservation codes prior that did not work at all, but also mean. Trying to make money out of the corona pandemic. Shame on this company. Just pay the few extra dollars and do not bother with them.

This is a total scam
This is a total scam. They charged over 50% when I tried to change the date/ask for a refund due to the Corona pandemic. Please do not waste your money.

Read the reviews and take the advice NOT to use this company. I called to request refund b/c company cancelled travel due to COVID-19, and after being on hold over one hour before they answered, I was simply told the ticket was non-refundable, and it was up to me to contact the airline to see if they would issue a refund. When I called the airline they said it was not up to them, but rather up to Fare Scan, b/c they were the ticket purchaser (and seller). The airline said that after cancelling my ticket, they would return it to Fare Scan, which means they will be able to sell it again, and make even more money. These practices are disgusting on the part of both Fare Scan, and the airline (Boutique), and I will make sure my company does not use either one of them again. Be forewarned! There should be a choice for Zero stars.

I am giving one star because it has the worst customer service I have encountered
I havent got any solution from FareScan even after following up multiple times. It has been more than 3 months and I haven’t received any refund from them. This is the worst company you can do business with I am giving one star because I cannot give something lower. My mother who was due to travel from India to the US in April is a diabetic and over 60 and was concerned about the Corona virus I had called them to cancel my ticket due to health reasons the customer service told me that they will charge me $400 to cancel the ticket and will refund the base fare. I told them that I didn't want to pay such a high cancellation fee. I asked to speak to a supervisor and I spoke to this guy who said he can give me a $100 rebate. After telling me that, i told him that i do not intend to pay such a high fee and said that I will take a chance and wait for the flights to get cancelled. I told him very categorically not to cancel the ticket and he said he will make a note that I will not be able to cancel my ticket going forward to which i said ok. Today, i got a voicemail from the customer service stating that they have canceled the ticket. I called them and told them that this is a mistake and it should not have been cancelled. The lady i spoke to said that they will incur a loss of $687 and will re-issue the ticket. I just received a call from the lady I spoke to last night and she said that I had told her to cancel the ticket and nothing can be done at this time and i will be charged a cancellation fee of $200. I told her that i had not given her consent to cancel or charge me a fee of $200 and she said it has already been done. On suggesting that i would like to listen to the call that i had made last night she said that I cannot listen to the call and the transaction is already done and nothing can be done. I strongly suggest NOT TO BOOK TICKETS FROM FARESCAN

Complete scam
Do not, I repeat, do not use this company to fly anywhere. My connecting flight was cancelled when I already flew 5 hours across the states. I show up to Seattle and I (ME!) was the one to find out my next flight has been cancelled. No one sent me an email, no one texted me. Then trying to contact them is just abysmal. After 3 days of trying to figure this out over the phone I probably spent 3+ hours on hold. THEN, I finally get them to say “we’ll refund you the percentage of flights you didn’t use because they were cancelled” ok great. However, she sent me an email stating I would get $0 back but said “don’t worry it’ll say $0 but you’ll get your actual refund in a month or 2, so just reply to the email saying you understand and we’ll process everything” ARE YOU KIDDING ME. This is a BRIEF explanation of my experience with farescan. Save yourself the trouble.

Beware!!!
Beware!!!! Don’t ever use farescan. Biggest scam company I have ever encountered. My wife and I tried to cancel our flight due to the corona virus out break. They claim the airline couldn’t do it which was a lie as I was reading their policy. They put me on hold 2x ultimately to have the call mysteriously dropped. Don’t deal with them... the few bucks isn’t worth the headache.
