Too difficult to use. Readings do not seem to be consistent with past pescriptions

Hello Joseph,
Thank you for your feedback. The accuracy of the measurements depends on the user's ability to test consistently and precisely each time. Also, please keep in mind, the measurement you are to pay attention to is the EyeGlass Number (EGN) and not the individual tests.
It looks like you experienced somewhat of a learning curve with the first 2 tests, and your results would likely improve with additional tests.
Please feel free to contact our support team with any other questions and/or comments.

Ingenious idea!
Having ordered glasses and contacts online for years, I was comfortable with the notion of trying EyeQue. There was definitely a learning curve involved for me - took MANY practices to adjust to the viewfinder. Once I was comfortable, though, the testing went by quickly. It was great to be able to take as many tests on each eye as desired. I was quite satisfied after taking a sufficient number of tests and the numbers were close to what I’m used to seeing from the optometrist (I’ve worn glasses for 37 years, so have seen many a prescription in my time). I’d highly recommend EyeQue!

Great instrument to have to avoid contact until COVID resolves.
A little hard to get used to the instrument to measure. My glasses turned out perfectly with the prescription given by the program. Nice thing to have during Covid.

Eyeque rocks!
It took a little while to get used to testing with eyeque, but I was able to get accurate results from it. I ordered progressive lenses with frames from Zenni. The p.d. was accurate as well. I am using the glasses while writing this review. I am so glad this was available during the pandemic! This was amazing and well worth the cost. I intend to set up accounts for others in my family. Thanks Eyeque!

It works!!
It takes a few repetitions to get used to the EyeQue but after three or four tests you will get it. I ordered the test glasses with my EyeQue numbers to see how good it worked. The test glasses are already the best glasses I have had in years. The last three prescription glasses I have gotten from my eye doctors were not as good as the EyeQue test and glasses

Wonderful!
Wonderful!
Worked perfectly.
My try-on glasses were clear and brought far images into focus.
I am happy with everything.

This thing does not work like the advertised
This thing does not work like the advertisement makes it appear. The right eye is tolerable but trying to do the left eye is completely tiresome. Does this thing measure for reading glasses?

Hello there!
Thank you for your feedback. We understand that our test can be time consuming/long, but we require the 9 measurements per eye to check for astigmatism and provide correction. A single test is not enough data to provide a reliable EyeGlass Number (EGN), which is why we require a minimum of 3 consistent tests. Your current 3 tests, while it generated an EyeGlass Number for you, can be further refined with additional tests if you wish.
The VisionCheck can only generate measurements for distance vision, but the app can provide a suggested near vision ADD (NVADD) value based on the user's age. If you take a look at your dashboard, you will see your NVADD below your EGN.
Please feel free to contact our support team at [email protected] with any questions you may have.

VisionCheck™ is Awesome!
I've needed glasses for quite some time now (nearsighted) but I've never gone in for an eye exam. Partly due to the fact that I have a serious fear of things touching or being near my eyes. Like, I can't even use eyedrops so having someone strap a machine to my head and mess with my eyes is an instant "nope" from me.
For the most part, I can manage in my day to day activities as I've become familiar with the blurs and shapes of distant objects around my house. It wasn't until I had to renew my driver's license recently that I realized how bad it was. I did some research and at one point, even considered buying an entire eye exam kit with about 260+ lenses and testing tools (I know it would've been much cheaper and easier to just go in for an exam but again, phobia)... then I came across EyeQue and their VisionCheck™ product. I LOVE new technologies and when I saw this little thing that you could hook up to your phone to check your vision and even order glasses with the results, I was instantly impressed! I placed and order and waited eagerly for my delivery.
When I finally received my product, I went to download the app that compliments the device and proceeded to register my product. That part was honestly the most frustrating and difficult part of the entire process. The website claims the app is compatible with the iPhone SE (the phone I have) but when I tried to use the app, I couldn't get passed a certain screen because the button I needed to click was offscreen and it wouldn't allow me to scroll or pan to get to it. Turns out newer iPhone models have a zoom accessibility setting that you need to turn off for the app to work properly, and that setting was missing on my phone. So It was zoomed in by default with no way for me to zoom out. I managed to borrow an iPhone 11 from a family member and reinstalled the app there, which worked as expected.
I was a little hesitant at first but after doing my first test and seeing how simple it was, I was thoroughly pleased with the device. I ran a few more tests and got my eyeglass numbers. I returned to the EyeQue website to order some "Try-On Glasses". I didn't have to plug my numbers in or anything, it already knew what my numbers were from my account. I placed my order and 1-2 weeks later, I got my first pair of glasses and promptly tried them on.
THE DIFFERENCE THEY MADE WAS INCREDIBLE! You know those Claritin allergy commercials where everything is blurry but then they take Claritin and everything becomes "Claritin Clear"? It was like that but in real life. I could read the nutritional facts on a box of cereal across the kitchen. Trees were no longer blurry smudges of green and brown. I learned that my ceiling had a fine texture to it that I never noticed before. It was like seeing everything for the first time. I think I had a stupid grin on my face for the rest of the night. It was just amazing.
So far, my favorite part about wearing glasses isn't the clarity I now have, it's the ability to push them up my nose with my finger and look like a smarty pants! Welp, I'm off to look at some nice frames online, and maybe some prescription sunglasses too! Thanks EyeQue, now I only have to squint my eyes when I give someone the side eye!
