Adieu Enphase, bonjour Apsystems

I just need to get something off my…
I just need to get something off my chest that been pissing me off for 3 weeks now. 13 years ago I contracted a company to install a solar system on the roof of my garage. They of course sourced components from various companies that they felt were reliable.
Now thankfully, as you can see the roof is accessible from the ground or my problems over the years would have been devastating to say the least. I have 23 micro invertors, one under each panel. The invertors are warranted for 25 years, it was a good thing because in 12 years I have experienced 14 micro invertor failures. The installation company is about 110 miles from me, so when the first invertor failed I called them and they came down to replace it. Even though the invertor was not charged to me their trip down here and labor was costing me $700!
Thankfully I watched the easy plug and play replacement so I could do it the next time myself. Good thing because this scenario repeated itself 13 more times.
Fast forward to now, the communication portal is made by the same company who makes the invertors. Calling the installer wasn't fruitful as they blame the problem on their supplier, long story short I was told by the supplier that the communication device had gone bad, warranty on this is only 5 years.
Replacement device is $700 and no bigger than my hand but "out of stock" due in 4 weeks. I finally received the device and although they claim "plug and play" installation it is anything but! Two days on the phone with the tech department and it still doesn't work properly. Now they are claiming it's probably a wiring problem and to call the installer. Nobody wants to accept responsibility and it pisses me off.
The name of the company that makes the invertors and communication device ENPHASE ENERGY...a word to the wise, don't let your installer use these junk devices made in China!

Response from Enphase EnergyJan 29, 2025
We're very sorry you're having trouble with your Enphase system. Our support team's initial assessment suggests a possible wiring issue, as the AC voltage appears too low for proper microinverter production. An on-site inspection is needed. We have also responded to the ticket. We would need to contact your Installer for a site visit. Please reply to the email so we can assist you in locating an installer in case you have trouble reaching them.

Response from Enphase EnergyJan 28, 2025

The Enphase system is a good system but…
The Enphase system is a good system but it has a lot of issues that are constant. In October my smartswitch breaker for the batteries started tripping when changing over from battery mode to grid mode. So I have not been able to use the battery to supplement my solar which was a big selling point of the system. I have been unable to get my installer to fix it. The installer says that Enphase has to send an tech person to fix it and Enphase tells me to call my installer. It's a shame that they cant support a $70,000 system. It's been 3 months now. My next step is to get a lawyer involved.

I very regret that I got in the contract with Enphase. I am paying for Devident loan and electronic bill. I was promised when signing a contract that I would get help with a government rebate. Now I find out that the company didn't do anything.
Before I had experience with SunRun for another house, that was perfect. I got rebate, electricity was produced more than house needed.
Emphases was big mistake. I don't recommend that company.
Response from Enphase EnergyJan 6, 2025
In order to initiate the process of claiming your government rebate, it is necessary to contact your installer. Installer contact information can be accessed within the Enphase app via Menu > System > Site Details.

Enphase system faulted out after 3…
Enphase system faulted out after 3 years and I went a whole year without having any solar and they never contacted me and when I got a big electric bill + I was paying for the system. They did not care to reimburse me a penny, I even had to pay for a servicing company to fix the issue which was also expensive. This company doesn't care about their customers. Closest thing to a scam I have seen, 0 stars. They also take their time responding, nothing is urgent to them

My power bill is more with my solar panels. Plus when they installed them the guy took it upon himself to do a 5 star review before I even got to see how I liked them
I am paying, 150.00 more a month than without them this does not include extra 90 for my bill to pay for the solar panels. And company shouldn't take it upon themselves to write my review the min they finish installing them. That's for me to do!
Response from Enphase EnergyDec 23, 2024
During the commissioning process, installers are prompted to complete a survey in their Enphase Installer Toolkit app. It's important to note that installers should not complete any other surveys on behalf of the homeowner. If you're concerned about ongoing high electricity bills, consider reviewing your energy consumption patterns and discussing the potential for adding more solar panels with your installer.
