I don't recommend Elavon at all! Here's my story: I have an online store for other businesses and I purchased a merchant account with Elavon for processing credit cards from our customers online. I don't know if it is Elavon Canada or Elavon US, but I believe they are the same. My account is with Elavono.com and the email I recently received recently is from "Elavon, Inc. 7301 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN". They have done whatever security checks they wanted and asked an additional form from me, which I filled. They had set up the credit card processing for my business account and used it for several months. Although there was issues at times and we needed to refresh the page to go through, it was okay. Then, right before running our campaigns to attract users, I received an email from them saying: "Your account came up for a brief security review and unfortunately after reviewing the account I must say we will not be able to process for this business. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. The account will be closed effective today"!!!!! This was insane! They charged me set up fees, plus $48 CAD per month. I sent an email and asked for clarification but did not received a response up to now. Later, when I called them and asked for the reason, they said they would not be able to tell me! The customer service is unsatisfactory and disappointing. The service is unreliable. They didn't reply to my email and I couldn't call them. They messed up our plans for an internal reason that even they can't tell me. If they cannot keep my account, they must refund all the money they charged me during these months, plus the set up fee. This is not including the damage to my business. My experience with their service has been terrible. Due to them, my business suffered a lot and fell behind schedule. I would not go close to any Elavon name in the world.

We use Converge to process our credit card sales. As an IT and Internet cybersecurity firm, we are amazed Converge does not offer multi-factor authentication (MFA) in accessing their processing site. Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) provides a secondary vehicle for authentication in accessing a site, with confirmation/verification/authorization via either e-mail, text, voice, or an authentication app (Like Google Authenticator) MFA implementation is always at the top or within the top five recommendations for best security practices to impede or protect from hackers, password compromises, identity theft/impersonations, malware, and/or malicious intruders. When we contacted Converge, we were told this is something possibly on the roadmap for some unknown delivery date, and it was implied this was not a priority, as “there are so many projects to be completed on their new platform”. Their only suggestion to accomplish this, is to request a password change every time you log in, so that request is verified via e-mail. They should be embarrassed in even suggesting this as an acceptable solution. Really? Every other financial institution we access, and almost every one of out vendors has implemented MFA. Be aware. Be afraid.

Jeg har al dokumentation Deres primære kunder er restauranter og pizzeriaer .. så kender du en der har denne terminal som vist på billedet så bed dem kontakte mig De 3 ansatte jeg har været i kontakt med er svindlere og alle deres tlf numre er hemmelige Du kan ikke ringe til dem via firmaets tlf nr da det ikke virker Vi må have dem stoppet nu Det er øjensynligt en svindel der foregår i hele Norden Dette er Dem jeg har været i kontakt med men forgæves Direktør Patrick sagde at han ringede til Norge Altså Elavon men forklarede mig at han ikke forstod norsk, så De måtte slå over i Engelsk . They will held your funds for no reason, Elavon Canada is no different, their main team is in Knoxville, TX and they will hold your money for no apparent reason. These kind of businesses shouldn't be allowed in Canada as these make small business suffocate.

Crooks. Stay away from elavon. My card terminal was with RMS and because of elavons bad practice of charging what ever they wanted each month, I decided to terminate the contract with RMS. Months later I'm getting dept collection companies requesting payment for elavon. Once the contract with RMS was terminated all direct debit payments were cancelled, terminal returned. This means elavons services were terminated. Instead they are trying to say that they continued to provide their services. Absolutely shocking behaviour which will be reported to the appropriate authorities. Stay away from these crooks. Don't use them. Look at their bad reviews in different portals.
