What a beauty. My first use of my Christmas present an EGO 4 piece Combo Kit which was more powerful than my old fuel Taylon. I used with ease the Whipper Snipper and Edger on front and back areas using about quarter of power on BA1400 Battery, then after mowing (Scott Bonnar Barrel), I decided to trim hedges again with ease due to power and sharp cutters, using just over another quarter.
Highly Recommend.

5 Stars and Serious Concern
This is a 5 star review with a serious caution to the company. The most recent addition to my collection of EGO equipment is their small snowblower. I needed something light enough to carry onto my deck and it fit the bill. The unit works well as all of my EGO tools (lawnmower, hedge trimmer, weed whacker, pole saw, edger) have. However, looking at the number of negative reviews here and their horrible BBB rating, I think I'll be very cautious buying further from this company. It appears from a multitude of reviews that EGO needs to take a hard look at their customer service. Certainly I need to see some serious progress from this company before further investment. I hope they get it together. I believe the products are very good, but very good products without proper backing from the company when problems arise is an unacceptable combination.

Bought a two stage snow blower which broke. The company customer support line was easy to reach and wanted to set me up with a repair facility in the area.
Turned out none of them serviced electric snow blowers and some where confused why they were even listed as repair facilities.
I was asked by EGO to take a video on the snow blower not working after which my issue was "escalated" to their "head office", which I guess means wait an indefinite amount of time for someone to get back to me. There is no way to get a timeline of any kind. Not even a timeline for someone to get back to me. They could not even provide a rough estimate. I am starting to suspect they have their own definition of "escalate" that differs from an accepted definition.

EGO who?
Mower has an issue. EGO sent me to a warranty repair facility in Orlando (1 hour from my home). Arrived and the service tech said they don't work on any electric mowers (even the one brand they sell). Asked me if those are the "green ones"? After some back and forth they called EGO. EGO attempted to set them up as a service site while I'm standing there. Packed up my lawn mower and went home. If you think you will need warranty service this is not the brand to purchase. Selling my 3 EGO products and going back to gas.

EGO Edger Stopped Working
I will start by saying that I'm a big fan of EGO products.. My issue is that I was given an EGO edger as a present. Five months into it my edger stopped working (no power, dead as a doorknob). I tried another battery, still a no-go. I called customer and was informed that because I couldn't find my receipt that there's nothing that they could do for me. Not a way to run a company.

After using Ego products for 6 years the original 2.5 battery is still doing work today. Can't complain.
The newer iterations of batteries with fuel gauge are terribly unreliable and customer service can't be lower.
It's a shame, they had a good run.
Want reliability, look elsewhere.

5 Star Until You Need Service!!!
***DEC 14 UPDATE*** Prior to needing service, I swore by their products and was like an ambassador for their company. My Lawn Mower has now been in for service over 2.5 months (Sep 26) and STILL WAITING! If the mower had been put in for service in the spring, I would have had to buy another mower or hire someone to cut my lawn all season.
I have audio recording of the service department advisor on Mon Dec 12 telling me that EGO is really bad to deal with. Direct quote from audio when I asked if this delay was normal as it was coming up to 3 months and he responded:
"Unfortunately it's quite ridiculous how long it takes to get anything correspondence from them otherwise they are great customer facing but on the dealer side, horrible. I've been waiting for handle assemblies since March April."
He noted that they have a large line up of EGO tools waiting for parts to complete service. I could see into the service area where the tools are waiting and I couldn't believe how many tools were there and this is a small city on Vancouver Island with a population of about 35K.
I was able to pick up the blower however, no issue was found on the intermittent powering off. It was determined during service that the issue only presented while using the smaller 2.5Ah battery. Despite the fact that EGO promote that their batteries are interchangeable, I was informed that the smaller battery lacks sufficient power to run the blower while pressing the Turbo button for too long and that a larger battery should be used.
Note as below that my case had be escalated due to the length of time and I have never had a follow up from EGO as promised.
***ORIGINAL POST***
I own a self propelled mower, chainsaw, backpack blower, hedge trimmer and string trimmer. I have found their tools to have lots of power as advertised and have been impressed overall. That was until my mower needed service! At the end of the summer, my mower self propel was stuck in high speed (stuck in low or high seems to be a common issue from what I have since read). I delivered the mower and the backpack blower to the local repair shop on September 26th and as of November 16th, it is still not repaired. Boatland Campbell River where it is being serviced has their phone system set to go straight to voicemail and they have yet to return any of my calls. They did mention when I dropped it off that "Ego never seems to be in a hurry shipping out parts". As part of the testing, they have all of my batteries so none of my tools can be used including ones needed for fall cleanup. I even stopped in one day to see if I could pick up one battery. After them having the tools for over 3 weeks, they said they had a part on order for the mower but haven't finished testing the batteries. Not sure why they wouldn't test everything first and then order any parts needed at once. I even contacted Ego about the extended time and it was "Escalated" and I haven't heard back from them either. I am in a small city on Vancouver island with about 35,000 people and I was also very surprised to see how many Ego Power tools where sitting waiting for service... shocking actually. At least with gas tools you can get repairs done in a reasonable timeframe and in many cases, probably fix them yourself. No communication. Slow service. Weeks of downtime. Think twice before buying!
