Have a EGO lawnmower. On all their products they state 5 year limited warranty. Well its very limited. As a matter of fact if you go on their website and read the warranty some items are only covered for 30-90 days. On the lawnmower the electric motor is covered by 5 years, but not much else. The handle bar have two tabs that lock the handle in the extended position. There are two plastic tabs that get inserted into two holes and lock in place. These tabs will brake and mine broke after 14 months. EGO claimed these are user parts and will not replace them. What it is is poor quality. In one of the handle bars is a switch. If the tab is broken it will not make connection with the switch and the mower will not start. Some kind of security feature. I don't mind paying for products, but the quality got to be there. EGO failed on both quality and warranty. Also have a EGO hedge trimmer with a recall. Followed the recall procedure and delivered the trimmer to the authorized repair facility designated by EGO. They would not take it unless I paid a $60 deposit, that would be refunded upon payment from EGO. Complete BS policy.

PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE SCAM!!! This tool costs $190 and there is a very small 30mm screw that holds everything together. Trust me you will obviously end up losing it someday as it is very small and can fall easily. The screw is required to attach the tool with the head using the green knob. So I spent over $2000 buying all sorts of attachments for the multi-head tool, and now I can't use ANYTHING just because I lost a 30mm screw. I literally spent over 5 hours looking for this screw, IT COSTS $83 TO SHIP 1 SCREW TO CANADA!!!! Why so expensive? Because EGO purposely uses an 8.5mm screw instead of a standard M5 or M8 screw you can easily find a replacement. Nobody uses 8.5mm screws except EGO so you will not find this screw anywhere. The part number is 5620550001 look it up online if you don't believe me. $83 for a replacement screw for a $190 tool, we can safely say that it is a huge scam to squeeze more money out of customers who already paid for overpriced Chinese tools. This screw should cost no more than $5 shipped in a standard letter envelope. So I went on hunting for a replacement part on the EGO Equipment Official Facebook group, asking others for help... Not only the company refused to give me the exact measurements of the screw or where I can buy it, but EGO also went ahead and censored my question by turning off the comments so nobody can reply to help me. What the hell is wrong with this company? I was polite and didn't insult anyone, I was just asking for help. EGO refuses to help AND blocks other customers from helping you. Hey EGO, here in the West we have this thing called Freedom Of Speech, I know you are not familiar with this concept, but maybe you should read the Wikipedia page about the Streisand Effect. Censoring customers is just going to worsen the bad reviews.

Product is ok. But when I tried to get it warranty service on battery, it was the worst! Multiple calls to customer Service, they ran me through all sorts of procedures, never receiving email back. I'll never buy an ego product again.

Have had three EGO leaf blowers die! First one used a season and an half. Decided to give EGO another try and upgrade to a better unit, died after less than 30 days, returned and got another one thinking we just got a lemon. Well on second use after about 5 minutes third one died. It is not the battery, it is fine. We were going to buy an EGO lawn mower, so glad we hadn’t got around to doing that! No more EGO or battery operated junk. Went to Harbor Freight today, bought a $44 Portland corded leaf blower that also vacuums and has great reviews. Cord is a bit less convenient but I have a small yard and I can buy 5 Harbor Frieght Portland leaf blowers for the price of 1 EGO! Love the Portland, much lighter and actually blows just as well as the EGO. If you have a large yard you might want a gas powered blower but stay away from the battery operated stuff is not there yet!

Terrible warranty support. Line trimmer failed after one use. Diagnosed as a short circuit by EGO customer support who promised to send a replacement. Called after waiting two weeks for shipping notification only to be informed my case was on hold. Customer support didn't know why it was on hold but updated it to in progress and promised again I would receive shipment notification within one week. Now, another two weeks later I still don't have shipping information and customer support can't tell me when it will be received.

We bought a 1521S string trimmer. It is an amazing trimmer. More powerful than any gas trimmer I ever owned. I would highly recommend it. Fantastic product. Here is the issue. For a number of reasons, none of which involve the performance or quality of the trimmer, we switched to another cordless electric manufacturer to expand what products were available based on our needs at that time. We then sold the trimmer on Kijiji. All good so far. The problem is that the Company says they cannot delete my account. We no longer need the account, but they will not delete it. This is a big issue that requires attention. We loved the product, but very much disliked that they refused to remove us from their database. It is not just EGO, It is pretty much everyone who makes it hard to control your info.

I have many EGO products and have enjoyed using them but the tool in question is my Z6 42 inch zero turn. EGO claims you can mow up to 2 acres on a single charge which I have never been able to do on 1.5 acre lot with the supplied 4-10amp batteries. I have owned this mower for exactly one year now and the amount I can mow is now progressively getting worse so I have now had to add a 5amp and a 2.5 amp out of my other tools to finish mowing the whole yard. I called EGO to report the issue and they told me to test my batteries by taking each battery individually and putting them in my blower and run on Turbo mode till they quit and log how long they run. Seriously that’s your test procedure! I would never purposefully kill my overpriced batteries to see how long they go on turbo and what does it do to the blower running that high for hours. I was sold on EGO products but not anymore and I recommend and sell EGO products everyday at my job at an ACE hardware store, well not any more I will recommend other products now. That answer to test your batteries EGO is unacceptable and a complete joke. Sorry but you lost a customer and will spread your testing techniques. They then gave me some ideas to try to get longer run time as running mower on highest mower speed and lowest blade speed to extend run time which I tried but mower was going to fast to compensate for slow blade speed so left a terrible cut quality. Their trouble shooting is an absolute joke and an embarrassment to their company.

my battery went bad and the company sent me to a local chain store for repairs. the store had a private contract repairman who contacted Ego for a replacement. That was over six weeks ago and i still don't have a replacement battery. i would never recommend buying one of these mowers because the problems with repair are so bad.
