🚨 Beware of EcoShield – A Scam to Infiltrate Your Home, Not Protect It
🚨 Beware of EcoShield – A Scam to Infiltrate Your Home, Not Protect It 🚨 I can categorically say that my home is now more at risk than before EcoShield came. Their goal isn’t pest control but creating infestations to pressure customers into paying thousands of dollars. 1. Deceptive Pricing & Contract Scams They advertise $138 every two months, but this is misleading. They locked me into a contract without clear terms and later falsely claimed I signed it when the inspector came, even though I agreed over the phone before anyone visited. When I called to cancel, they demanded $380, saying it was the cost of the initial service, which was just a 10-minute attic check and a $9,000 sales pitch. They ask for reviews before doing any work, which makes me question their 6,500+ Google reviews (check Yelp, where their rating is 1.5 stars). 2. Lack of Professionalism & Useless Service I called EcoShield after seeing mice in my kitchen—something we never experienced in four years. We sealed access points and saw no further activity, but I wanted an expert to inspect and secure my home. The technician sat in his car for 20 minutes, then walked in with traps, doing no real inspection. Instead of identifying entry points or advising on prevention, he placed traps in the same places we already had traps—without any inspection. 3. The “Inspection” Was a Complete Scam The inspector arrived later and went directly to the attic—the only place they mentioned when I first called. He never checked the basement or kitchen, where the only proven activity had been. After 10 minutes in the attic, he suddenly claimed we had an "infestation" that had been going on for years (which makes no sense given that we’ve had no activity for four years) and pushed a $9,000 treatment. No traps were placed in the attic, despite him claiming it was infested. He did not mark where he inspected—no proof he looked anywhere else. Suspiciously, after he left, I noticed broken drywall pieces near the attic opening, which were NOT there before. I have no idea what he was doing, but it seemed like he could have been opening access points or weakening barriers inside the walls. The vague inspection document is attached—he pressured me to initial it without explaining what I was signing. 4. False Advertising & Dangerous Practices They call themselves "EcoShield" but laid out poisoned traps without warning me. I have young children, and they never explained the risks. They refused to treat baseboards or secure entry points, yet claimed they provided pest control. 5. They Leave Your Home More Vulnerable They removed barriers I placed in the basement and failed to put them back, potentially opening my home to more pests. New activity started in my bedroom—right where they accessed the attic. Given their shady tactics, I wouldn’t be surprised if they planted pests to justify their services. 🚨 Final Verdict: Stay Away from EcoShield! 🚨 They don’t inspect, they don’t secure access points, and they don’t do real pest control. They use scare tactics to upsell overpriced treatments. They manipulate customers into contracts and hidden fees. Their glowing Google reviews are misleading—check Yelp for the real truth! 🚨 If you are looking for legitimate pest control, DO NOT use EcoShield. They are nothing more than a high-pressure sales scam.
