One Star – Deceptive Business Practices and Unauthorized Charges I had a terrible experience with EcoShield. I was misled by their salesman, Matt Montalvo, who assured me that I was only signing a receipt for a one-time service. I made it very clear that I did not want to be enrolled in any kind of ongoing agreement. He reassured me it was just a formality. To my shock, a month later, my credit card was charged an additional $319.88, and I discovered they had enrolled me in a contract without my consent. When I contacted customer service (on a recorded line), they were dismissive and rude. Instead of helping me, they informed me that canceling would incur an additional cancellation fee—even though I never agreed to any contract in the first place. This felt like a scam from start to finish. I ended up in collections and paid for services I never received and never agreed to. The entire experience has been stressful, dishonest, and deeply disappointing. I strongly caution others to avoid this company.
