Avoid Drivo / Ace Car Rental. The are a dishonest and manipulative company that will add questionable fees - you'll end up paying more that you would have for a more reputable company. Drivo / Ace is one of the few companies that require you to prove your insurance coverage. While I was able to clear that (with some hassle), during the process the agent slipped in: "and it's good that you won't have any deductible", which I didn't completely understand. Turns out he added additional paid coverage to my contract which I didn't realize until I got the final bill. I never said yes to that coverage. Also, I was charge a very high administrative fee for a bridge toll, even though I had paid the toll directly via the toll authority.

This company told me my insurance wasn’t sufficient and forced me to pay $30/day for their coverage. I only drove the rental to and from an event — about an hour total — and was hit with a $150 cleaning fee after I returned the car... Even though the car was spotless. Stick to the Avis's and Enterprise's of the world.

Worst company ever they have poor service and have been fined for stealing from consumers! Stay away!!

Rented an 'ACE' car via Travelocity website. I included insurance. ACE confirmation sent me to 'DRIVO' an Ace subsidiary. Was told the insurance I purchased was not valid for them. Had to buy theirs at double the expense. I had no choice so I did. Claimed the original $$ back from Travelocity but... ACE told them that "I had used that original insurance" (in spite of me showing the rental receipt with the 'new' insurance. Then... WATCH OUT: I drove the NH and was told I was out of geo-fence area (for less than 24 hrs). Charge: $150 !!! ($15 per day for the FULL 10 day rental period. Depending on the state this can go upto $75 per day. If you rent for 14 days that's over $1,000 added to your invoice. My original Travelocity Total amount: $435. Amount charged to my CC by DRIVO: $770 ! Do yourself a huge favor, rent from the usuals, *NOT ACE, FOX or DRIVO*. I was penny wise and pound foolish. Never again.

Did not notify on original booking that rental was geographically restricted (can only travel to some states in the east, charge ridiculous amounts to go outside). Also did not notify shuttle driver, so I waited 45+ minutes to find out I could not book the car. They wanted to charge $1500 to travel within the US... more than three times the cost of the original booking. other issues as well.

Probably the worst car rental experience we have ever had! We reserved a vehicle through Expedia which was showing $26.99 a day rental in the New York City area. After the shuttle from La Guardia airport drove us to the Drivo location, we were told by the employee at the counter that we had to purchase their insurance even though I had my dec page from our Allstate insurance clearly showing full comprehensive insurance coverage, and that I was using American Express which also covers rentals. The charge for their insurance was $70 per day more then the original rental. The employee that didn't understand English we were dealing with could not or would not accept what was clearly shown on the Allstate dec page. We reluctantly accepted the insurance as we were out of options. Getting into the car we saw that there was less than 90 miles of range of fuel. The windshield and side windows were filthy and the car smelled of marijuana. ACE Rental Car should consider ending their franchise agreement immediately!
