We’ve had our account for over 15 years and have had only superior service whenever there has been questions about charges or merchandise not received or poor quality. Discover recently resolved a charge for merchandise not received and immediately issued e a temporary credit while they investigated the company. We did finally receive the order with their assistance and intervention. It was a company on Facebook-that after we placed our order saw the very poor reviews of not receiving the orders, incorrect/charges and tracking numbers, etc. NOTE: check reviews before placing orders and always use a credit card the will help with the fraud purchase or unauthorized purchases. I’m sorry for the person who had a less than positive experience regarding the credit card and interest charge discrepancy.

I applied online for a Discover "IT" card using the invitation number I received in the Mail. Was immediately approved for a 14.99 percent card ...Zero Percent intro with a $4000.00 credit limit. Received the card in the mail and called them up because the interest rate stated in the welcome package was higher at 15.99 percent. Before I could ask why the rate was now higher they transferred me to their security dept who said they couldn't identify my phone number. Next they insisted I go to a bank, bring documents and get it notarized that I am who I am.I told them I am not going anywhere un-necessary during this Covid-19 pandemic. When they insisted I told them to close the account. I have several prestige and platinum credit cards and around an 800 score and have never been treated like this by any CC company. Have had the same phone number for ten years. They said the service they use to verify phone numbers couldn't verify. I suggested they get another service to help them with that or check my phone carrier.

Have had the card for over 5 years, pay off monthly, Fico 820, they have now locked me out of my account and I assume locked the card also, they claim they need me to request the IRS send them my tax returns to verify income, note, I have not requested any increase in limit, have never paid late or missed any payment, usually the full balance every month...I will just use one of my other cards but would have been screwed if I was out of town with just the Discover card, The only time I have ever had any bank request IRS verification was for a Mortgage...I am thinking close the card as it is unreliable, my purchases run between $3 and $5 K per month as this card is used in my business but it looks like I am not a customer they want to keep

Discover cancelled my credit card for no reason other than the fact that I had a 0 balance for too long with a $14,000 line of credit. When I called them they could care less and said sorry nothing we can do about it, but i could reapply again if I wanted. Discover can go F their self.

I would NOT recommend Discover Bank! They give you a hard time when you want to correct anything on your account. I initially requested that my Discover bank account and debit card display all three of my birth given names: first, middle, and last. Discover asked me to upload documents. I uploaded a copy of my birth certificate which shows that I have been a U.S. Citizen since birth. Then they LOCKED my account to where I could not log in because I needed to further prove my identity. So they told me to upload a front and back copy of my driver's license or a utility bill. So I uploaded a copy of my driver's license, both front and back. When I called to see if it was received, the agent told me that I needed to do it again because they need to see all four corner's of my license! I have never heard of such mess. I am a Black female and judging by what a previous person said about Discover and experiencing a similar issue, I am wondering if it is discrimination or just plain human stupidity. I don't care and have decided to close my account before I even started to use it. I had a gut feeling that Discover would give me a hard time about something, and here we go with this mess, all over a name! There should probably be a federal law where everyone's accounts must match their birth given name or the name assigned to them if they ever officially change their name. Thankfully, I never deposited any money into the account since I never got the chance. So if Discover is reading this, they need to change their policies. Often times, government documents, accounts, and other types of documents ALL need to have the same name displayed or there could be an issue. I have never in my life seen such incompetence. Discover executives cannot be this dense. Sometimes when you receive or send money, for example, if your bank account, license, and cards do not have matching information, the transaction may not go through. I have had accounts with several major banks in the past, and they NEVER gave me a hard time about my name or my identity. With other banks, I am always allowed to use my full name with no problems, and my full name has a total of 22 letters! I refuse to be treated like a criminal or some b!&$h on the street. They got me f%^*#d up! Seriously, in 2020!? Nope, not happening. Furthermore, in many cultures, people have longer names or several names and should be able to use as many letters or names that coincide with what is listed on their birth certificate. When I called Discover back to close my account, the agent told me that I needed to submit a copy of my social security card for account closure. Again, I have had plenty of bank accounts over the years and I have never heard of such. The agent told me that the account will automatically close in 45 days if I never fund it, so I told her fine; but I am not giving them anymore documents. If Discover is discriminating against persons of color, they are wrong in doing so. And even if they are not, a customer should not have to go through all of this just to open an account, I've seen actual criminals treated better. I have never been a criminal so I refuse to be treated like one, period. Anyway, glad I saved myself a migraine by just walking away. No business should give customers such a hard time, especially with what the world is going through now with COVID-19. I would rather pay fees at other banks than to have Discover. Trust me, I dodged a big bullet and you will too by banking elsewhere!

Discover used to “Treat you the way you would treat you”. But something changed. One day, I got a sassy rep that I wrote off as one bad experience, but from that point on, Discover has been nothing but a pain to deal with. Get ready to be transferred Until you either give up or die; having to explain what you are trying to accomplish to each person, repeating your security information each time, only to be told,” I’m going to transfer you over to the department that handles that.” Eventually, the call drops altogether and you contemplate beginning the process all over. Maybe being sent to collections would be better than dealing with this. No one can help you with what you need because you called on a weekend. If it were a weekday, they could have access to the special screen that they need to solve your problem. Why didn’t you, the customer, call when it is convenient to them? Your brain short circuits as you try to formulate the polite words to say, “Well, Tim, when I tried to call you guys during the work week(on my lunch breaks, I might add) my call was dropped after Melissa transferred me for the 13th time and I had to go back to work. Hungry, angry, seething.... it’s fine though. I’m the problem here.” Just borrow from loan sharks, you guys. It’s a better experience all around.

Discover is reducing credit limits!!!! They are "reviewing" accounts. They're lying. They're using any excuse they can make up. I have grown my card from $300 to $1600. I started banking with them first. I did it right. They dont care. I told them this was credit discrimination. JOIN THE TEAM!! STOP HURTING AMERICANS DURING COVID-19. They said no. My credit score went UP 2 PTS THIS MONTH. TU 690 FICO 8. This is the best credit I've ever had while I've had this card. DONT FALL FOE DISCOVER. THEY ARE ONLY OUT FOR THEMSELVES. I told them I needed my line restored to buy my children dinner tonight. They said no.
