If i could give ZERO stars I would
If i could give ZERO stars I would! Not only is their "customer service" ridiculous to reach. They charge you for everything. I am an excellent driver, signed up over 2 years ago. The due date kept changing by a day or two periodically so that was irritating. Was never late or cancelled, had ONE claim that was a not at fault (was rear ended) and it was minimal. I decided after the latest round of fees they could not explain that i was DONE. so I switched to Allstate. They then have now charged me 55 bucks just to cancel it. READ YOUR DOCUMENTS CAREFULLY when signing and save them. I read all of mine never saw that fee. I am disgusted and then they tried to tell me this is standard. NO SIR IT IS NOT in the 30 plus years i have had insurance never paid a fee to cancel. I am sure the local branches are great so this is NOT a slight to them but the actual company is complete garbage and dont even get me started on the claims adjuster that could not communicate to save their life. BUYER BEWARE - if you dont believe me look on facebook at the sheer volume of upset and angry customers. It is mind boggling.

This company committed fraud
This company committed fraud. I called Allstate for auto insurance and got transferred to this company. They told me if a pay all up front for a year I’d get a discount. Once I said ok they took my credit card number and said their system crashed so they couldn’t give me a ID card. Then go to find out they added 2 additional policies without my consent, life insurance and telemedicine. When I requested to cancel and get a refund the lady sent me an email with 5 different policy numbers and said they’re all bundled under one and I need to sign it to get a refund. Even though the temp card they gave me, the auto policy number on it didn’t even match the policy number on the cancellation form. This company is a complete scam and they pray on people not realizing they’re adding on extra policies to get paid. They should all be ashamed. That’s disgusting.

NO STAR
NO STAR!
Had a flat on a car bought less than a month ago. Insurance paid in full. Full coverage.
Called them at 7:18 in the evening/night.
I stayed stranded there until 10am the next day. One person came with their “man” riding the truck and flung down the nuts and leaving it just laying friend saying I don’t have the wheel key. And how they wasted their time on this job and they came from SC. And just left me there. Another came and said they would return with the key for the wheel and never did.
I never got assistance from them and got assistance instead from my dealership.
Sounds like a scam cause I everyone was speaking india.

If I could give this company 0 stars I…
If I could give this company 0 stars I would. I am not going into everything I’ve experienced with this company but logging into the website is a hassle within itself. It never loads and gives you an error message. I’ve been trying for 2 days and still nothing. Others have been having issues as well. But want to know the weird part of it all. One representative told me that their system was “updating” as well and would place me for a callback. I asked how long would it take. His EXACT words were, “Soon, but you know how technology is so theres no specific time”. LIKE HUH?! So a few hours went by with no callback, so I decided to call again. This time the representative told me to try again it should be working (mind you I had tried literally 2 mins prior to this call and it still wasn’t working) but of course IT WORKS LOL. But this morning I decide to go on there again, and guess what……SAME BS. So that should tell you A LOT!

I am writing this review in the hope…
I am writing this review in the hope that someone in executive leadership, corporate customer relations, or an appropriate outside organization will take notice and help resolve a situation that should be relatively straightforward.
My vehicle was recently struck by another vehicle in a parking lot. I was traveling at a very slow and controlled speed when the other vehicle entered the parking lot at a considerably higher rate of speed. Because my vehicle was blocking the driver’s intended path, the other driver attempted to drive around me. During that maneuver, they turned their vehicle directly into mine, causing damage to my front bumper and headlight.
I initially contacted my own insurance company. After reviewing the circumstances, I was advised that the other driver appeared to be at fault and that I should first pursue a claim through the other driver’s insurance rather than immediately use my own coverage.
The initial communication with Direct General Insurance was actually smooth and professional. However, there was an issue that concerned me from relatively early in the process. I was suspicious that there could be a problem with the driver’s insurance coverage because the person operating the vehicle was not listed on the policy. I specifically raised this concern with a Direct General representative and asked about the potential coverage issue.
Based on that conversation, I was led to believe that everything was in order and that the claim would be covered. At no point did I understand that I was going to be left in a position where my vehicle could remain damaged while Direct General and its policyholder worked through a potential coverage dispute.
Unfortunately, once it was formally determined that there was a policy coverage issue, the communication and assistance I had been receiving essentially stopped. I now understand that Direct General is trying to determine whether the policy will be rescinded or whether the driver will be added to the policy retroactively.
I understand that Direct General has an obligation to investigate its policy and determine whether coverage applies. What I do not understand is why the innocent party is effectively being left in limbo while that internal coverage determination takes place—particularly after I proactively raised the coverage concern and was led to believe that there was not going to be a problem.
At this point, I am not asking Direct General to ignore its contractual obligations or make a decision without conducting an investigation. I am asking for reasonable communication, transparency regarding the status of the claim, and a timely resolution so that my vehicle can be repaired.
I am a disabled veteran, and having my vehicle damaged through no fault of my own has created an additional burden that I simply should not have to carry indefinitely while an insurance company and its policyholder resolve an issue between themselves.
The driver who caused this accident made a reckless decision that put the safety of others at risk. I was operating my vehicle slowly, cautiously, and responsibly. I should not be the person left bearing the consequences of someone else’s actions or an insurance coverage dispute.
I am simply asking Direct General to do what is reasonable: investigate the claim, communicate with me, make a coverage determination, and either accept responsibility for the covered loss or clearly explain the basis for denying the claim so that I can pursue the appropriate next steps.
I sincerely hope someone in Direct General’s corporate or executive customer relations department sees this and takes the opportunity to help resolve the matter.
I don’t want special treatment because I am a disabled veteran. I want fair treatment as an innocent third party whose vehicle was damaged in an accident that was not my fault.
At the end of the day, I just want my vehicle repaired and returned to the condition it was in before this accident.
