Never had to file a claim so I can’t speak to that. However, if you get rid of your vehicle and cancel on any date besides the last day of your policy, they charge a cancellation fee. Such BS. Leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth and now I have negative feelings about this company.

The absolute worst insurance company ever. I have had them for 6 months this month and my bill increased by 98$ for no reason. I called and the adjuster told me that my bill continue to increase every 6 month nonmatter what becuase the AI does an automatic reassessment on prices so my bill will increase every 6 month from 50 to 150. This company is horrible. I was later by 2 days and they canceled my policy and charged me 2 months in advance to reinstate it . Then I laid it and then they still charged me the monthly bill once the bill period came out

This company is absolutely horrible to deal with!!! I cancelled my insurance and they continue to change me! I have been carrying insurance with another company due to how horrible their company is and yet today I received another bill in the mail! Their customer service reps barely speak English let alone comprehend the language. They have stated that yes, my insurance is cancelled but yet they continue to send me bills. I would not recommend this company to anyone!!! Save your time and money and find a more trustworthy company!!!

I got a policy on 9/17/2026 to get SR22 insurance and have Direct Auto insurance send proof of that insurance policy to the BMV. During the phone call, the agent was made aware of exactly what I needed. He said it would absolutely be no problem to get that over to the BMV. I waited over a week for it to be sent, i finally called customer service to verify they sent the proof, only for them to tell Me they were unable to do so. So during the time they got my money and i purchased a policy, it was “absolutely no problem” after i purchased the policy, it was “not possible to do so” I immediately requested a cancellation of my policy, and the customer service agent had the audacity to say I owe them 4 dollars because he was going to try to charge me to cancel at the end of this month. Keep in mind, i purchases the policy on 09/17/2026 and canceled on 09/23/2026. Luckily, they back tracked and cancelled it on the 17th, and issued me a refund. Which will be a mail Check and i can receive it within 3-14 business days. Absolute joke of a company, stay far away from Direct Auto Insurance.

The worst insurance people that I ever seen please do not go to these people take my advice. They promised me to pay 217 never paid that I paid 345 for a clean drivers record go elsewhere.

I worked with brian from the call center! He was super easy to work with, I was really irate about my policy at the time but him and his supervisor fixed it for me and we’re super helpful and calm

Cancelled my policy as a non-refundable! Without any notice! All I got was sorry! Never missed a payment! Direct Insurance is a joke! Scammers and unprofessional! I'm reporting them to the Better Business Bureau! DO NOT USE DIRECT AUTO INSURANCE!!!
