An honest review from a new online glasses shopper.
I chose Designer Optics because I could not find ANY glasses that fit my rather large head. I searched every store in my city that I possibly could and they all came up short. So I decided I would give online shopping a chance, I was a bit nervous ordering glasses off the internet. However, I found an amazing brand XXL and saw that Designer Optics had the pair of glasses I was looking at for cheaper than a few other online stores. I was skeptical still but once I visited the site I felt a lot more at ease, seeing how they had set up a button on the page that said "Need help with what these "SIZE DETAILS" mean?" I clicked that and it literally showed me how to measure for frames. With some help from my wife I was much more confident that these glasses (at least the frames) would work great. So I added to cart and started looking at the options for the lenses. This was a bit more difficult to understand but I was able to get some help via email with Designer Optics who were very responsive and helpful with understanding. I also wasn't pressured into buying the most expensive options but rather given sound advice on what might work best for me. This was much different that when I shopped at my eye Dr for glasses before which felt like being at a used car lot. Oh and they were able to use my prescription from my eye Dr! Which of course was great, but there were some confusing numbers I didn't know which to choose but again Designer Optics was able to help me out with a quick email. Now the bad part, albeit not really Designer Optics fault, the glasses took a really long time to get made/shipped. I was able to find a reddit post talking about how this brand XXL is hard to get shipped on time though so I am not holding Designer Optics totally at fault, however I don't like how the website made it seem like the frames were already in stock. Overall, for the prices, customer service, and product I am very very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend Designer Optics for anyone looking for that specialty pair of glasses that most brick and mortar places just don't seem to carry.
