I like the food... but it hard to get the ordering dates correct so as not to wind up buying days/week of food at the grocery on top of this delivery charge. But my only BIG NEGATIVE IS PACKAGING! I'm not sure but it seems like it was perfect the first couple orders but has since fallen apart. First it was odd to get faulty/leaky packaging, then it became more frequent and now it is every order and almost every 4-pack. The main seem pulls apart into two portions just fine but the crossway seam of perforations does not and no matter what care I take - and even when nothing has stressed the packaging yet - most of them leak while defrosting (no, not just water from the ice), some don't leak until the cross seam has to be torn... often causing an off seam tear and leak... often no visible sign of tearing but leaking, despite looking whole. I'm irritated by it and have been meaning to call or write to you about it. Please get your packing peeps to get their quality up.

Darwin's takes care its customers. They recently had to cease selling rabbit, but went out of their way to locate their last supply for my subscription order. There are occasional shipping issues that mean some of the product defrosts before it arrives, and they make sure that I have the full amount of my order in time to keep my cat fed. Their quality of their food is outstanding--my vet approves of their food.
Response from Darwin's Natural Pet ProductsSep 11, 2026
Hi Susan, Thank you for your thoughtful review! We're so glad we were able to locate our remaining supply of rabbit food for your subscription order. We understand how important consistency is for both pets and their families. We also appreciate your understanding when shipping issues arise, and we're committed to making things right to ensure your cat never goes without food. Hearing that your veterinarian approves of our food and that you're pleased with the quality means the world to us. Thank you for being a valued customer!

I have 9 cats on raw and they've been eating Darwin's for years. While some of them have health issues from years of outdoor living, they are mostly quite healthy, especially in their organs (thyroid, liver, kidney).
Response from Darwin's Natural Pet ProductsSep 11, 2026
Hi Lori, Thank you for your loyalty and for trusting Darwin's with all nine of your cats over the years! We're happy to hear that they have thrived on our food and that their overall health, especially their thyroid, liver, and kidney health, has remained strong. We know that caring for a large feline family is a labor of love, and we're honored to be part of their nutrition journey.
