I have been noticing a LOT of packages lately that have been compromised at some point during packaging. I can tell immediately when I am taking them out of the box (still completely frozen), the color is totally different and you can easily move the plastic around, due to the loss of vacuum. When thawed they leak all over the place, they are brown throughout, and they smell horrible. I have been getting at least 5-10 of these every 20 lbs. This has been a problem since I have been a customer with Darwin’s (3+ years), but it’s getting worse and I am forced to throw out a ridiculous amount of these because my cat and dog won’t eat them.

This is the second month in a row that my order was not received. This time, I received an email stating that my package had been damaged and discarded by the carrier. The email - which was from Darwin’s then suggested I contact the carrier. Why should I do that when product replacement should fall under your management? And why didn’t Darwin’s initiate a refund upon becoming aware that I had not received my order? My cat likes the food, but it’s obvious that I need to find a replacement.

I was just a little grossed out by the blood and the meat look , it was just not what I was expecting. It kind of made me nauseated to serve it. However , my dogs seem to like it a lot. ..

I received an email stating my order was rescheduled, with no reason as to why. It was pushed back by about 2 weeks, and my cats would have ran out of food. Idk if it had anything to do with the SuperZoo trade show and not enough staff to fulfill orders, but disappointed I didn’t receive an email from an actual person letting me know why my order was pushed back. So I then logged in and manually pushed my order through and there were no issues with fulfilling it that week so it clearly wasn’t an OOS issue. Then the lovely article about the lawsuit came out and more evidence of uncleanly conditions in your facilities - so I am officially done with this company. After over 7 years it is a shame.

While the meat is great, the customer service isn't. Orders were delayed, delivered late, emails about delivery weren't sent. Worst of all the dry ice burned me! Complained to customer service and they promised to not send order with dry ice but they did so three more times. This is when I canceled my subscription.
