-5 stars I am honestly SO MAD they have been scamming people with the "lifetime verification" they did not say that I would be charged $87 CAD until after the fact. Please, please, please use another platform. If you have also been scammed out of money... you can file a report through your country's department of consumer protection or go through small claims.

Ich war immer ein großer Couchsurfing Fan, habe es genutzt und gerne auch Menschen aller Welt gehostet. Das CS coronabedingt kostenpflichtig wurde, konnte ich nachvollziehen. Doch was da jetzt betrügerische Weise mit den Verifizierungsgebühren abläuft, ist richtig ekelhaft. Sowas macht man nicht!!!! Gerade Couchsurfing war früher eine Sache, die auf Vertrauen basierte. Das das Vertrauen der Nutzer mittlerweile so ausgenutzt wird und man regelrecht abgezockt wird ist wirklich erschreckend!!!

A week ago I paid the monthly contribution but still couldn’t access my account so I contacted the support and they thought it was just a Couchsurfing App matter so they suggest me to remove and download the app again. I did it but, of course, without results, as the problem had nothing to do with the App. I suppose instead that my payment hasn’t been correctly associated with my account or some like that. To make a long story shorter, I sent them several emails asking them to check and fix the problem but I’ve never ever got an answer, as if I was writing to nobody. I’m extremely disappointed by the way they (DON’T) handle the support’s requests and, anyhow, I still cannot access my account: I paid for nothing and I’ve been swindled by CS.

ARNAQUE !!! Avant c’était gratuit mais maintenant c’est le business avant l’humain , hier je m’inscrit je me dis 2,99 euros/ mois pour aider les créateurs et la gestion je peux comprendre et je me retrouve avec un prélèvement de 2,99 euros + 56 euros !!!! Un scandale j’ai écris pour un refund évidement ils disent que c’est écrire dans leur condition générale de vente, je vais mettre des avis négatif partout je vais les pourrir jusqu’au bout , je vais rentabiliser mes 56 euros de manière très obscure , 1 client égale 10000 de perdu

Not the actual couchsurfing, someone just bought the name and changed everything. Lack of transparency, broke the agreement and promises that hosting would stay free, only tells you that verification costs over 50$ the last second. They offers no refunds, and refuses to talk to the community. Do not join, the entire community is moving to other sites. Couchsurfing should die, as a grave reminder of what greed does to a company

After supporting them in 2020 with a one-time contribution for support during the pandemic, they now assumed that I want to do this yearly and just take my money! When I call them out about it, they ignore me.
