The site is now Pay2Win only. If you're not paying couch surfing a subscription you can't use the site anymore. It's disgraceful to ask for £13.49 PY or £2.79 PCM. My options are now either pay the money, delete my account or deactivate my account. Do you know how much money that is if all members have to pay this to actually use the site? Not happy at all. Absolutely disgraceful for them to even ask for such a high amount.

Hi! They were misled me also with the verification fee. I am from Europe, but US people, please report this website to the police!!!! I can report them too, but it's an american website, so I think my country won't bother with this... I registrated in Couchsurfing, then I also made a mistake like most of you in here. I wanted to verify myself, and I gave my credit card data to the site. They didn't mention anywhere, that they will charge me!!!! Then they charged me 56 EUR!!!! I reported it to my bank, but they can't do anything against this. I wrote to Couchsurfing support service, they wrote me back they won't get refund, and I should enjoy the community! Well, thanks, I won't trust in this website anymore. I blocked my credit card because of this, because I have heard, some people were charged again! My bank will send me a new credit card for 5 EUR! So thanks, I had to pay 61 EUR for nothing!

The idea itself is amazing (I have been using it for years, mainly hosting people). Unfortunately the platform is full of bugs and the customer support is the worst I have ever seen. I have paid to get verified last 13th May and until today (14th September) not only my account doesn't show as verified yet but nobody has ever replied my inquiries.

Never give this company your credit card they are literal thiefs. I wanted to verify my account (which they make seem like something you have to do to use the service). They ask for your credit card (which you think is free or will have small fees of 2$ ) Then I get a 60$ charge receipt by email! 4 minutes after I immediately contact them for a refund. To which they respond"We do not offer refunds sinceMay,2020." I contested the charge. AVOID!

THEY'RE CRIMINALS & SCAMMERS!! DO NOT TRUST THE NEW COUCHSURFING.ORG! KEEP YOUR CREDIT CARD AWAY FROM THEM!! They UNETHICALLY charge you US $60 for "ID verification" without mentioning this cost upfront. NO SERVICE PROVIDED - Just a charge for nothing. AND NO RESPONSE from SUPPORT TEAM. THIEVES!

Not going to lie, firstly when I just had a problem and my email was sent to a customer service department. I came here jut to check review. I was in shock and scared, that my case will never be solved, but gladly within 3 hours I received email from Renee (Couchsurfing Support). Without any questions she said -" your case is solved, within 3-5 working days you will receive your refund. Well done Renee, well done Couchsurfing!

Stay AWAY from couchsurfing. Never invite women without recording EVERYTHING as theft and accusations are VERY common. If you accuse females of anything couchsurfing will just ban your account and refuse to answer.

Don't ever give this company any money! They are untrustworthy and will scam you. First there's the monthly fee they require you to pay to use your account. Then they ask you to verify you creditcard, but only afterwards you discover that it costs 56 euros, and they don't give refunds. Also the community is basically dead, most people have left because of this horrible business practice
