They closed my account without giving any reason. They took my money and they didn't respond to my dozens of emails. I had a lot of references and wasted a lot of time. It's just a money pit. Damn you.they are thief.be carefull for no reason the time and money you spend may be wasted.and this is a high possbility.

I want an answer. Otherwise I will contact the credit card company and cancel for fraud. I signed up for almost a week. And no response. I sent prints, transaction id, my data and so far nothing.

Since 2009 I was on couchsurfing. Last year I decided to abandon this platform after having hosted in my home in Mallorca lots of people from all over the world. And I still keep in touch with almost everyone. But already before the pandemic the requests I was receiving were looking for a hotel room for free stay rather than friendship or cultural exchange purposes. I was asked by someone if I had hot water and whether they were given towels and all that crap because they were a group of friends coming and how many I could host at one time. I politely sent them to a hotel in Palma. I am not a receptionist sitting at a front desk. I will gladly host anyone who would like to meet me and I am so happy I joined CS in the good old times when true friendships would take place. It was so much fun and we would end up travelling together to New Zealand or Asia. Now everything is ruined because they became greedy for money. It became like if Google asks you for money or Twitter or Instagram. Absolutely ridiculous!!

This is a scam. They took $66 off my account ( R1050) as a "verification " amount. They teicked me into thinking I was verifying my account and then deducted this money as a " life time subscription " This was not advertising or stated anywhere before they took my money. I emailed me and they refuse to give my money back. That is theft. It is trickery. I am so mad. I am an unemployed South African who cannot affort this . They will probably ban me from the site after seeing this review anyway. Stay away from these sh*ts. Now a concern I have is how do I know they will not steal money from my card again in the name of something else?

Used to use this website all the time when it was free. Then they changed it, and I paid the supposed one time fee of 50 dollars thinking I wasn't going to have to pay another dime. Like they said. Now they want a monthly fee, while refusing to give you access to your profile. I even paid the monthly fee once to access my contacts and I did sent out about 50 couchsurfing requests for one city. Not one of them was even read. This website is now effectively, dead. It's sad to see a community once beloved and enjoyed by so many people driven into the gutter by corporate greed and idiocy. Got scammed by this website. They took £51 for verification. This was not visible when I joined. I thought I was paying £2.79 a month. I was shocked to see that they had taken £51 out of my account for this so-called verification which is useless. Not good when you consider that many people who use CS are not very well off. I am unemployed due to covid closing my company and this rotten company won't give me my money back for something I did not want to buy.

Paid annual fee to use site and still not letting me into it. Not answering my emails either,wouldn't recommend to anyone.

It's SCAM! They deducted from my payment card 51 GBP for payment card verification (!!!) and they don't want to return the money! Thefts. They cut correspondence and not replying on my e-mails. There is no other way of contact than e-mail. I'm really angry on those cheaters.
