Total scam! I was on their website trying to figure out what it was all about and started signing up so I could view more of the site. It prompted me to VERIFY my email/account, either by PayPal or Credit Card, so I entered my credit card - and they immediately charged me GBP £51 for a "lifelong membership". I immediately sent a message protesting their trickery and demanding a refund to which they refused. How can they get away with this? I've contested the charge with my bank and trust they will recognise this dishonest practise and refund me. Total scam company.

Be aware of couchsurfing.com scam! Like many people in here I also was a victim of this scam. I recently signed up for one month membership in couchsurrfing and once subscribed it prompted me to verify my account to unlock full features. I followed the steps and next thing I knew I was charged with £51 for a lifetime verification that doesn’t serve to anything! They refused me to make a refund and didn't reply to any emails neither messages in others platforms... Searching where can I make a make a formal report against them.

He estado usando la aplicación durante muchos años para alojar a huespedes, para que me alojaran, para pedir sugerencias sobre lugares, etc. Desde la pandemia no he podido viajar pero este último año me llegan mensajes y solicitudes de viajeros pero no puedo acceder sino pago por ello. Justo iba a hacerlo ahora porque queria seguir en esta comunidad pero se me ha ocurrido leer las opiniones y veo que la mayoria son negativas y que se quedan con el dinero y no puedes acceder por lo que ya han perdido una viajera que hacia uso de su app. Una pena, la verdad...

Couchsurfers!! Absolute Scammer of a Company Took an annual subscription fee on top of a lifetime/verification fee. Eventually replied that they couldn't refund any fee. Surely there must be a body that regulates these companies.

they are taking my money without asking i cancelled my membership and deleted my account lots of times they are still taking my money from my card i've sended lots of mail to support but they don't give any answers when they give answers they give late answers and not helping at all.

SCAMMERS!!! I have not used the site for a while, and recently wanted to come back. I paid over 2€ for subscription and clicked on "verify my profile" as many others on here. Couchsurfing site charged me £51 (like many others) without informing me about it!!!! Thank god I didn't submit my government ID because I don't trust them no more. I truly regret not checking Trustpilot or Glassdoor for reviews before submitting my card details. Very dodgy company, avoid avoid avoid!!!!
