We placed a pre-order for the inflatable Big Hero 6 costume on September 22nd with a deliver by date of October 16th. We were told that our credit card would not be charged until the item shipped. On September 25th the charge hit our card. Four days later I still did not receive any correspondence that the costume had shipped. On September 28th I went online to check the status of my order and it showed the costume in stock and if I would of ordered it that day I would receive it by October 6th. I called customer service to ask why I have to wait an additional 10 days to receive my order because if I ordered it today I would have it by the 6th. I could not get an answer from anybody! Just convoluted excuses. After being placed on terminal hold I requested that the order be cancelled. It took me contacting them 3 additional times to get the order cancelled. I finally received a confirmation email that my order was cancelled and they would issue the credit to my card and it should post in five business days which would of been October 6th (after initially denying they even charged my card) I still have not received my money back. I had to file a dispute with my credit card company and they are currently handling it. I wish I would have read the reviews before I made my purchase all the negative reviews are spot on!!!

We pre-ordered a highly popular costume (Disgust from Inside Out) for this year back in August. My daughter has been waiting anxiously for it and even purchased all the make up and accessories for it. It finally arrived today in a size two sizes too small. I called immediately to try to get the correct size sent and they told me they don't have any more to send me the correct size, so basically, no costume for my kid. They kept me on hold 20 minutes to speak to a manager, who actually sounded like the same person I talked to first. They had no explanation as to what happened, other than that the "picker" in the warehouse didn't pay attention to the size. They had no sympathy to the fact that my daughter now has no costume and the fact that we thought to plan ahead two months ago but still got screwed by them in the end. They told me to give the small costume away to someone else who needed it! They offered 35% off my next purchase with them! AS IF I would EVER purchase from them again!!!! Horrible customer service, horrible warehouse service and communication, and now a very sad little girl in my house. Thanks for nothing, Costumeexpress.

This company SUCKS!!! They lie!!! I ordered my product in mid-September. They promised a delivery date of September 30th. That date came and went. I called them and was given another date of October 19th. I called BEFORE the 19th then given an email that it is the 23rd!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!! I called today and "what a surprise" its not coming until the 25th and by the end of the conversation it was that it arrives at their factory on the 23rd and there is no guarantee that I would get it before Halloween!!!! Seriously, seriously!!!! Whoever that person was in the reviews that gave them 5 stars must be the owner. All they have going for them is a catchy web-page. TURN AWAY, you will only be disappointed!! Even worse, your little one will be disappointed. I had to settle for 1 star only because I couldnt have the review be 0 stars,

I am very disappointed in my experience with Costume Express. I ordered a costume for my daughter on September 14th. At the time I ordered it it said "In Stock". After not receiving the costume, I contacted them and it had all of a sudden turned into an Out of Stock item. I contacted them via chat and they told me I would receive it by October 3rd. On September 28th, they charged my card. Still....no costume. I contacted them again last week. Asked them why they had charged my card when it says online they won't until the item is shipped. I told them I needed to know if in fact they had a costume for my daughter and they told me yes...it was packed and ready to ship out. They had just received a supply from their merchandiser. I saved a copy of that chat and email by the way. So yesterday I get an email from Costume Express telling me they are sorry, but they can't fill my order because they took too many requests and don't have enough costumes. I am livid. So I called Costume Express last night and the guy (who barely spoke English) said they did have some but they wouldn't ship until October 27th (guaranteed). Sorry...but I've had enough of your guarantees....they mean nothing. I've been guaranteed 3 times already and you stole my money. Plus...no way we would have it by Halloween. He had to put someone else on the phone because he couldn't understand anything. So the lady I spoke with asked me what I wanted to do. I told her to cancel my order and I wanted my money back asap. She said she was submitting the cancellation right then and I would have a refund asap. I have received nothing that says my order has been cancelled and if I look up my order it still says it's processing. I am a single parent and I don't have the money to go and purchase my daughter another costume until that money is returned to me. I want my money back right away. I have also contacted your Corporate office.

My kids do not always like what is available at stores like Walmart or Target. We typically end up going to Party City or one of the local costume stores that pop up at Halloween. And we typically do not get good sales or reductions. This year I decided to try Costume Express. The order was charged correctly (some reviews had said the charges were incorrect) and the shipment actually came a day before the estimated arrival date. The costume was what we ordered and expected. The costumes are basically the same ones that you can purchase at other stores (if you can find them). The ones we ordered are thinner and not super high quality. But again, they are typical costumes. We were not spending a ton of money on kids costumes (they do have some hi end ones listed on the site). Even with shipping the costumes were less expensive than anywhere else we could order them from (because the kids chose items not at the local stores) and it was shipped to our door. PLUS we ordered when there was a coupon code so we got it at a price less expensive than we could find anywhere else online. We were pleased with what we received as well as the service. We will definitely be ordering from here again.

We had a big production project that relied on an ordered costume to arrive by the date specified on our express delivery. I even spoke with the company beforehand that it would be delivered by that date, they guaranteed it. We had to have it for a video production. The date came and it was still 'processing'. All they did was apologize. This company is not worthy of our business. We won't give them an opportunity to be sorry again.

I needed a costume for Halloween and while, admittedly, it was a bit late. I paid for express shipping, did not get any email saying it had even shipped. I got the same costume from Amazon the next day. When I tried to email Costume Express to cancel my order, they responded 3 days later saying they had already shipped it and that if I wanted to return it, all shipping and handling fees would be on me. Terrible customer service and return policy for an already poor service. I will not be using Costume Express again and I regret even trying. Don't make the same mistakes.

I ordered a costume for my son who is on the spectrum and a huge Star Wars fanatic. I had looked around online to find a costume with a full head helmet to meet my son's sensory needs. When I found what I thought was the perfect costume, I showed my son and we ordered it. From the advert, it seemed to be a full head two piece helmet. When it arrived, there was no two piece helmet, but instead a mask with a rubber band across the back. I called customer service and explained about the mask and my son's sensory issues. They told me to order a different costume (the day before Halloween) and they would "try" to have it to us by Halloween. As a single parent to 2 special needs children, this was not an option for me. Especially since in addition to shelling out more money for another Storm Trooper costume, the overnight shipping fee is almost $30! I am so disappointed and dreading the fact that I have to show my child this costume. The only other option is for me to return it, which is what I'm going to do since I know he won't wear it. It also leaves us in an uncomfortable position of not having a costume for my son. I did ask to speak with a supervisor and was connected to a woman named Sarah. No sooner did I respond to her question of how I was doing and the line disconnected on their end. I have yet to receive a call back. At this time, I am disinclined to order from this site again and will discourage anyone I know from ordering from them.
