Personable, hard working, strong movers who did everything to get the job done. Helpful in every way to John and Lynn. I will highly recommend them to my clients.

Had a great team. They were super responsive and professional. There were multiple stops and starts due to communication issues with the other side of the move; however, they were able to diffuse the situation and get the job done. The foreman was very responsive and congenial. They even humored my daughter who gave them “good job” stickers They more than earned their pay and if I could give them six stars I would.

What a bad experience. First time hiring movers—and honestly, I feel like I got cheated. I’ve always handled my own moves, but as a disabled military veteran, I physically can’t do that anymore. That’s the only reason I trusted a company like Coastal Moving Services. From the start, the sales rep, Francis Castellon, built that trust by telling me the company was veteran-owned and offering a military discount. As a veteran, that mattered to me. I felt like I was dealing with people who understood integrity and service. I was wrong. I clearly explained I was moving from a three-bedroom home with a garage. I also made it clear I didn’t yet have a final destination and might be moving locally or out of state since my move was about a year away. I told him everything I had and trusted him to build an accurate quote. He even told me not everything needed to be listed item by item—which I now realize was a huge mistake. If you use this company, make sure every single item is listed in the quote—even things like your flat screen TV—because they will use that against you later. In May 2025, I was quoted $2.25 per cubic foot, around $3,000 total, and told this would cover what I needed—basically a full truck (similar to a 26-foot U-Haul). I was told the rate would not change no matter where I moved. I was encouraged to lock it in with a deposit, and because I trusted them—and believed I was dealing with a veteran-friendly company—I paid about $1,000 to secure that rate. Looking back, the estimate they gave me was completely off. It was closer to a one-bedroom apartment, not the three-bedroom home I clearly described. But at the time, I trusted what I was told. Then on March 20, 2026, when I was ready to move, everything changed. Suddenly: My rate jumped to $4.25 per cubic foot I was told the original quote only applied to a local move My inventory increased from 540 to 900 cubic feet My total cost went from about $3,000 to $8,000 And this still wasn’t even a full truck like I was originally promised. I spent over a month trying to fix this. I spoke with multiple reps who didn’t care. A supervisor named Chris was rude, dismissive, and refused to let me speak to a manager or escalate my complaint. I even asked to speak with the original sales rep, and he blocked that too. Every time I tried to explain what I was told, I was blamed. No accountability. No effort to fix it. As a disabled veteran who was specifically told this was a veteran-friendly company, this experience is beyond disappointing—it feels like that trust was used against me just to secure a deposit. In the end, I had no choice but to cancel because I couldn’t afford the new price. I lost my deposit, and all of my complaints went unanswered. I have a wife who is a nurse and a 6-month-old baby at home. This created real financial strain and stress on my family. If you’re considering this company—especially my fellow veterans—be very careful. Don’t rely on what they tell you over the phone. Get everything in writing, list every item, and question everything. My loss is hopefully someone else’s warning.

I had an extremely poor experience with Coastal Movers and the carrier they contracted, Coast to Coast Movers. What should have been a straightforward move turned into a month-long ordeal involving misleading estimates, poor communication, and multiple surprise charges. I initially booked with Coastal Movers in January 2026 and was quoted approximately $2,500 to move a shipment consisting only of boxes and storage tubs (no furniture) from Kentucky to California. I scheduled pickup for February 28. Shortly before the move, I was told the pickup date was actually a range (Feb 28–March 1), which had never been disclosed during booking. After pushing back, they agreed to honor the 28th. On pickup day, I learned for the first time that Coastal Movers is a broker, and that my move was being handled by a different company, Coast to Coast Movers. At that point, the estimate nearly doubled from $2,500 to $4,700, allegedly because the original quote did not properly account for distance. With my lease ending, I had no realistic option but to proceed and pay half upfront. The contract included 30 days of free storage, which I used while relocating. When I later contacted the carrier to schedule delivery, I was told they could not provide a delivery date—only a vague window of up to 21 days, with 24 hours’ notice before arrival. No tracking or meaningful updates were available, and I had to keep my schedule open for weeks. After the 21-day window passed, I had to call them myself. I was told the shipment was “on the way” and to expect a call. On March 30, a driver contacted me and estimated delivery for April 1–2. At that time, I was also informed that the remaining balance would need to be paid via cash, money order, or Zelle—despite a check being accepted at pickup. On April 2, I was told I had missed multiple calls from both the company and the driver, and that they were about to return my belongings to storage (with additional fees). However, I had no record of any missed calls or messages, aside from a single voicemail containing only background noise and no speech. When I explained this, I was told, “Then your phone is broken and it’s your problem.” I was then informed I would need to pay a $175 “re-delivery fee.” The conversation was hostile, and the representative repeatedly spoke over me and refused to engage with the situation. My partner had to step in to de-escalate. Later that day, the driver arrived several hours late due to a breakdown, with minimal communication throughout the delay. Upon arrival, he introduced an additional $300 “carry fee” because he claimed he could not bring the truck close enough to the unit. This had not been disclosed in advance. The distance in question was approximately 140 feet. We declined and instead had him unload at a staging area, requiring us to move everything ourselves. We were also still required to pay the $175 re-delivery fee, despite earlier indications it might be waived. Payment itself became another issue: due to Zelle transfer limits and the lack of prior notice about payment restrictions, we had to leave the site, withdraw cash from multiple ATMs, and return to complete payment ($1,320 in cash and $500 via Zelle). When unloading began, it was clear that many boxes had been mishandled. Numerous boxes marked with orientation labels were upside down or sideways, and approximately one-third were visibly damaged (crushed, torn, or dented). After the driver left around 7 PM, my partner and I still had to manually move all items from the staging area into the unit ourselves, in the dark, without lighting, making multiple trips by car. This was after an already exhausting and stressful day. In summary: -Initial estimate was significantly inaccurate and nearly doubled at pickup -Broker status was not disclosed upfront -Delivery scheduling was vague and untrackable -Communication was poor and at times hostile -Multiple surprise fees were introduced late in the process -Payment requirements changed without proper notice -Items were mishandled and arrived damaged -Final delivery required us to complete a large portion of the labor ourselves I cannot recommend this company or the carrier they assigned under any circumstances.

I am heartbroken as I just discovered that our nicest painting and our largest TV were stolen by this company or the company in which they subcontracted to move us. They baited us into contracting with them by quoting us a very reasonable price for the move from FL to TN, even though they did a virtual tour of our home. On the day of our move (Jan. 15) Rapids Moving and Storage, the subcontracted company, showed up and almost immediately stated that they would not be able to move us for the amount quoted. They in fact doubled the price. After many phone calls back and forth with Coastal Customer Service and my spouse, as he was at work, we were pressured into signing the new contract or they would not have moved us, and our tenant was scheduled to move in the following day. Long story short, they rushed to pack us up, therefore many pieces of our furniture were damaged, including our dining room table leg broken, lamp table broken, curio glass broken, china cabinet glass shelf broken, just to list a few. I have moved many times in my life, and this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. Do not fall for the SCAM because that’s exactly what it is. They quote you a low price to get your business, then they show up, double the price, force you to sign new contract, leaving you with no choice.
