AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS
I have had an absolutely appalling experience with Cigna. I originally emailed in January 2026 asking for my policy to be cancelled. That email was never responded to, yet Cigna continued taking payments from me for more than 10 months. When I realised I was still being charged, I contacted them again requesting immediate cancellation. No response. I followed up again. Still no response. I then sent a formal complaint and final notice clearly explaining the situation, requesting cancellation, reimbursement of the payments taken after my original cancellation request, and written acknowledgement of my complaint. Again, no response. I have now contacted multiple Cigna email addresses and departments, including customer care, billing and accounts, claims, secure messaging and individual staff contacts. I have also tried calling the number listed on their website, only to be met with a recorded message saying the number has been disconnected. At this point, I genuinely do not know what else a customer is expected to do to get somebody from this company to respond. This is not a case of waiting a few days for customer service. My original cancellation request was sent over TEN MONTHS AGO. Cigna continued taking money from me after that request, and I have repeatedly tried to resolve the issue in writing with absolutely no meaningful response. For a company dealing with insurance and customers’ money, the complete lack of communication is shocking. I am now having to escalate the matter through my bank and the appropriate complaints process because Cigna has seemingly made it impossible to resolve something as basic as cancelling a policy directly with them. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend thinking twice before taking out a policy with Cigna. The real test of an insurance company is what happens when you actually need their help, and my experience has been more than 10 months of being ignored, continued charges, endless chasing and complete silence
