To all Florida Residents that purchase PRESCRIPTION Dog Food & Prescription Medication (Prescriptions needed from a Veterinarian) from Chewy.com, you are being ripped off. The Sate of Florida states that Prescription Dog food & Medication is Exempt from Sales Tax. Chewy has been charging Sales Tax since 2019 to me. The first 4 years they were following the state rules but then got greedy & started ripping off their customers!! Very disappointed in their practice of doing business. I have been trying to recoup my money since June, 2025. Can only go back three years. Statue of limitations!!

I am from Canada. Chewy.com does not ship to Canada. I sent the items to a U.S. Warehouse for transfer to Canada. Chewy.Com split my order without my consent, doubling my transfer costs. I will never buy from Chewy.com again. Nonsense. Buy elsewhere.

Products are great, but I will never deal with Chewy again. Accidentally ordered the incorrect auto-ship products (kittens are now cats and needed to update to cat product). Upon realizing within minutes of placing the order, cancelled it and the placed a second order for correct items. They took both payments and after dealing with Chewy Customer Service and my bank (who has confirmed 2 payments were taken), they are telling me that the first transaction is a pending transaction and no money was taken, when it clearly was. I also provided photographic proof to chewy via email. It has taken a week to get to this point (numerous daily phone calls and emails) and I now have to put a claim in through my bank to get my money back, which can take up to 30 days. Chewy’s customer service reps, supervisors and manager are useless. Nice and understanding, but useless. Will be cancelling my account with them once this matter is resolved

Chewy lies and prevaricates. I had a guinea pig med emergency. They promised a 2 day delivery. They sent me an email the same day I order to tell me : "we contacted your vet and all is well the med is on its way". Two days later, I get another email from Chewy: "your vet has not approved the prescription yet and we are also questioning the huge quantity you are ordering." 1) the vet, another hedge fund owned group, had actual sent me the prescription ahead on my request, so I know they approved it. So Chewy is lying when they said they called the vet. 2) a paltry 30 ml of gabapentin is a huge quantity to you, Chewy? Who are you, Chewy, to discuss my vet's professional opinion? I canceled my order, and drove 16 miles to get the med directly from my vet. Chewy was hardly cheaper anyway. Lies and no deals. I will never order form Chewy ever again.

Usually Chewy customer service is good but I'm disappointed in my recent experience. I orderd Bravecto Plus for our cat because he had had a bad reaction to the Revolution med. With Revolution, it is a small vial with a cap that you remove. The Chewy pharmacy instructions for Bravecto just said to "follow vet instructions". I had purchased the Revolution from my vet. They were clear about REMOVING the cap. The printed instructions for Bravecto are roughly 5 long pages of very small print. I glanced over it and then opened the package, and tried to remove the cap from the vial just like with the Revolution. The vial looked the same. The contents spilled all over my gloves. Chewy pharmacy instructions should have stated " TURN BUT DO NOT REMOVE CAP" especially since Revolution directions are to REMOVE the cap, I understand that Bravecto should at least CAPITALIZE and BOLD that part which is buried deep into the five pages of fine print, but Chewy could have taken two seconds to note that important difference, Chewy made me repurchase the medicine, did not send me one at no cost to make up for this awful and easily avoidable experience,

Never ever will I attempt to utilize chewy.com again. Both experiences I’ve had with chewy have been exorbitantly negative. Several months ago my veterinarian suggested I utilize Chewy because she knows I am a terminally ill disabled woman who live lives on a fixed income and she is my longtime veterinarian and is a godsend. Even though they are used to making the money on the medicine they prescribe she never fails to not only send the medicine elsewhere but find promotional deals that can assist me as well as my two felines who are actually registered service animals, one who has already saved my life. She suggested in order to get their six months of Revolution I utilize a promotion that was going on with Chewy about five or six months ago. I did so. They filled all of the little inexpensive items the treats, the litter etc. on the promotion and then told me that the veterinarian refused the prescription. I spoke to my veterinarian about this and she assured me in no way shape or form did anyone at that office whatsoever refuse the prescription and that they were not even contacted. I contacted chewy back and told them to close my account because I was incredulous that they would do this. Unfortunately, several months later the eldest of the two who is now 9 1/2 years old was diagnosed with diabetes. She is the one who saved my life when I had a seizure and hit my head on the bathtub by licking me until I awoke. The emergency room doctors said had I laid there much longer with the brain bleed I could very possibly have been a victim of serious brain damage and that essentially she saved my life. Now I am doing whatever it takes to afford this disability of hers which was just diagnosed a month ago. I ordered this glucometer along with many other items totaling $149 under a shipment that said it would arrive in three days. She has already seen the vet and is on the insulin and it is imperative that I be able to take measured documentation of her glucose levels so that we can have her on the right dosage. I put this order in five days ago. I contacted them yesterday about why it has not been sent out and they stated that I just needed to verify the account and now that I’ve called them and did so it will go out immediately. When I hadn’t seen any change or received any other email other today I contacted them back to get basically a status update or see if there was anyway we could expedite it. The young woman I spoke to said it might take another 24 hours to go out but let’s see if we can get someone to expedite it. I was switched to a supervisor named Princess. At this point I had spoken to someone yesterday, someone today prior to speaking to princess, and now Princess. After my apprising her of everything I had gone through several months ago with Chewy and several of the situations I was dealing with in general as well as my local DMV having had their system compromised and my receiving several letters from the Federal Trade Commission about a year ago causing just a nightmare on earth for the last year for myself with my finances and several of my accounts but that it was actually chewy who treated me unjustly causing me to close the account six months ago she agreed to expedite the order but informed me that she has taken back the $20 E gift card that was Given for the promotion stating that I am not eligible for it because of that previous order I’d had which as she stated you yourself just informed me of. I thought I was incredulous before but I am absolutely astonished now. So after you ripped me off six months ago for 40% off of $190 order you decided you’d take the pittance of a reward I received for this $149 order in the form of $20 E gift card because for some reason she’s decided I’m not eligible? It’s literally just shameful. This is how Chewy treats terminally ill, disabled US citizens with registered service animals as pets and I thought it should be known. Fortunately I learned in the beginning of this horrific hacking incident a year ago of which I have now contacted many Tech experts who have explained to me that when it’s this insidious there’s just no resolution short of changing your name and getting a new Social Security number and I can assure you I have tried everything including a VPN to no avail. But I did learn that I should record all such calls on a small digital recorder that I have purchased and I did so. I will be contacting the Federal Trade Commission at this point because some things are just worth standing up for and my beautiful, life-saving, best friend who is a nine year-old female Maine coon/Persian mix is certainly invaluable to me if no one else. I genuinely appreciate everyone who has taken the time to read this as I am tired of large corporations advertising customer service quality and concern when they are cruel and apathetic in reality. I had previously used Chewy for authorship but recently even though I had skipped several orders they still sent them all anyway. I had to stop using them because they just send what they want not what you want. That’s Bad.

Ordered (3) 32oz bottles of Wipe Out I cleaner and a reptile light bulb from Chewy.com. Package arrived utterly destroyed. No packaging materials used. Just the bulb and three bottles tossed in a box. Nothing survived. We refused the package. Chewy sent an apology stating that it was "not the Chewy norm" and that they would reship. To their credit, they did reship. Bulb came separately this time in better packaging. The three bottles of disinfectant were destroyed in transit again and automatically turned around by the carrier. Chewy again reshipped. Same thing. After the third failed attempt, they said they were out of stock of the item and credited my card. Each of the three time I received an email stating it was not the Chewy norm. Obviously, it IS their norm. I have purchased other things from them in the past and have not had a problem. This experience has been crazy. I will not order anything liquid or fragile (bulbs, etc.) from them again. They do not know how to package products for shipment.
