No more CHEWY orders from me
Ordered a case of specialty cat food for my cats because of health concerns one of them had. First case came packaged in the same box as large pail of cat litter, not much packing material and several cans became damaged enough that the cans were not airtight and the food was spoiled when I opened it. Chewy kindly replaced the whole case, not just the damaged cans. The replacement shipment came in a single box, but several cans were also banged up though none ended up being spoiled. I ordered two more cases of the food AND I went ahead and signed up for a monthly auto ship because the food was not easy to find in my local pet supply store in any quantity more than a week 's worth for two cats. What a mistake! Expecting my first monthly shipment to be sent today as per my schedule only to receive an email saying it was out of stock. So, clearly, autoship stock is not planned out, a fact that the customer service rep I spoke with confirmed when she told me that they don't put the autoships in until the day before they are scheduled to go out. So if there is not stock to fulfill it, the order can't be filled. What makes even less sense is that she told me it was also not on backorder. If I wanted to place a new order I could wait a few days and try to do so..... presuming it was in stock at that time. Where is the convenience in autoship schedules if Chewy is not going to ensure that they are adequately stocked to fulfill them? AND, if there is a supply problem, why wait until the day OF shipment schedule to let their customer know there is a stock issue so that they are not scrambling to find supply elsewhere? I won't even go into the thinking behind not putting something on backorder for your customer who was relying on you. So, thumbs down on packaging... thumbs down on autoship,( because it definitely is not convenient or worry free), and thumbs down on customer service! 2 stars are given for them cobbling together a case of food out of the damaged cases.
