Chewy has really gone down hill these past few years. No good deals and terrible unhelpful customer service that promises fast shipping when they're constantly losing packages, damaging items, and also letting me believe that I ordered something when the item was out of stock. Waste of my time. There is no rewards for loyalty so I'm taking my business elsewhere.

Chewy membership renewal is a scam $79…
Chewy membership renewal is a scam $79 a year, right, a money grab, automatic unless you kill the deal, experimented with in 2024, now implemented.JPG
Thing is, I never opted in for membership, I just ordered product, so they were going to charge my card effective Oct 31 $79 for renewal. Screw that. I opted out, and it was an old credit card, due to credit card fraud this year, but still... some Chewy executive is digging all in for his 7 figure bonus this year...
I called Mom and let her know this would be an automatic charge to her card. I know she doesn't monitor her email much.
In case you were doing business with Chewy, they are going to grab $79 from your account. Pass on the word in case you've loved ones who would be charged. It may make sense for some people, but not for all/most? It certainly doesn't make sense for my house. Screw corporate America. They've lost my business.

Grain moths
I had signed up for auto ship on my dog food.
Unfortunately, every bag of food I received (3 bags) had grain moths in it and I had to throw them away.
I do not recommend them for dog food.

Chewy stole my money and made my pet suffer
I am extremely disappointed with Chewy’s handling of prescription Autoship orders.
This is the SECOND time Chewy has placed a $189 hold on my bank account for my dog’s Apoquel even though they did not yet have the required prescription authorization from my veterinarian and therefore were not ready to ship the medication.
Seeing $189 taken out of my available bank balance led me to reasonably believe that the prescription had been approved and the Apoquel was on its way. It wasn’t. I eventually searched through my emails and discovered that Chewy was still waiting for the prescription authorization.
Meanwhile, my dog has been suffering terribly from itching while I’ve been waiting for medication that I believed had already been processed and was being shipped.
When I contacted customer service, I was told that the $189 was only an authorization hold and that it could take up to 48 hours for the funds to become available again. Whether Chewy considers this a “charge” or a “hold,” the practical result for me is the same: $189 of my money is unavailable even though Chewy cannot yet fill or ship the prescription.
I understand placing an authorization hold when an order is actually ready to be processed. What I do NOT understand is placing a $189 hold before Chewy has even obtained the prescription required to fill the order.
This has now happened to me twice. For a company selling important prescription medication for pets, this process needs to change.

Chewy going downhill
I was a very happy customer for years...their fast shipping and great customer service was awesome. Well I think I'm done with Chewy. My order stated "out for delivery" all day yesterday...no delivery. Enter the chat and every response was apologies and excuses..no solution except for "we'll check on it occasionally". Thanks for nothing Chewy.

12 week set Autoship ships in 3!!
Beware of Chewy.com Autoship will resend immediately, wont allow you to cancel, and you will receive nothing from Chewy for their "error" other than waithing 3-6 days for your money back and a trip across town to fedex to return package.
30lb bag of Blue Buffalo dog food I paid $72.99+ tax for with a discount for auto ship. Set the auto ship for 12 weeks and 3 weeks later got an email saying it was preparing for shipment. I canceled the auto ship immediately and received confirmation email saying it was canceled even though my card had already been charged $76. Two days later on a Sunday I get call from Fedex saying they were trying to deliver to my PO box. Told them to return to sender and they said they couldn't. Arrived at PO Box and picked up a couple days later by me. Called Chewy and told them what happened. Guy on phone didn't sound too surprised. They told me I had to drive the 30lb bag of dog food over to Fedex location to return to them, offering nothing for my inconvenience.
If I recall correctly the first time I ordered from them the same way, I had to cancel my auto ship twice. Coincidence? Not likely. They know there's nothing I can do about it , but return the package costing them only return shipping. It's likely they make more money off people who are too lazy or too busy to return the package, so they just keep doing it.

This is my 1st time with Chewy and even signed up. Well went to spend the $50 to get $25 card they declined me saying I already have a account and ordered cat food a year ago like how is that possible if I just adopted my cats and this is the 1st time I even adopted a pet. Well they lost a 1st time customer and didn't care about loosing one. Went to Petsmart instead instead.

Chewy Website sent out two identical…
Chewy Website sent out two identical orders of everything for my autoship delivery. Thus, I was sent four (4) 40lb bags of Bird Seed, two (2) Large Boxes of Milk Bones, two (2) sets of Pawstruck Filled Dog Bones.
This double delivery from Chewy has been a major expense for me. Needless to say, I am disappointed and dissatisfied with Chewy's service. It is not possible for me to send four (4) 40lb bag of Bird Seed, along with all the other items back to Chewy since I am disabled and don't have the ability to lug these items around to a Fedex store.
I definitely want to send the duplicate order all these products back for a full refund, but I do not have a printer. Again, all of this is a financial strain and tremendous drain for me.
If Chewy was a reputable company, I would have been notified of this duplicate order since logistics would conclude that the repeat order was an obvious mistake (made by Chewy).
My resulting conclusion of Chewy is that this business does NOT care about its customers.
