Chewy states on its website that orders placed before 5 pm will ship same day. Within hours of placing the order, Chewy sends an email stating that package has shipped and order cannot be changed. However, all Chewy has done is create a shipping label and the package does not reach the shipper until two days after the shipping label has been created. I have ordered from chewy several times and this happens every time. When contacted, customer service offers apology and says aware of the issue and working on it. So, why isn't chewy truthful? Fraudulent inducement to purchase is illegal.

I had high hopes for Chewy.com as a solution to my cat food issue - my cats prefer a product that I have to drive an hour to get - however, my hopes were dashed irreparably by shoddy service. I ordered 5 - 8-can packs of Tiki Cat and a 20 lb. bag of cat litter on March 21st and looked forward to receiving a box on March 28th. On March 28th when no box appeared I checked the tracking and discovered that the box and/or contents had been damaged in shipping and were being returned to the vendor. The new estimated delivery date was April 4th. I was disappointed but perfectly happy to chalk it up to a fluke. On April 4th when no box appeared I checked the tracking and discovered that the box had been delivered to Harrisburg, PA! This did not help me one bit. Monday morning, April 7th I called Chewy.com and inquired about my order. I was informed that UPS had not contacted Chewy.com, however to make amends a new package would be sent right out, and half of my purchase price would be refunded. Now the estimated delivery date was set for April 14th. Hurrah! The box arrived as promised, HOWEVER, all was not well. There was cat litter everywhere! The box was not well packed - it was much larger than the contents necessitated and there was inadequate packing material, both in terms of quantity and quality. The contents had shifted so much in transit that 23 of the 48 cans of cat food were dented - that's 48% of the product, and the cat litter bag split open and only 10lbs 15oz of the 20lb originally shipped was still in the bag - that's 55% of the product. The remaining cat litter was in the shipping box, falling out of the box onto my porch, and even inside the plastic wrapped packages of cat food. Talk about inconvenient! I had to open each package of cat food while outside and remove the individual cans to avoid bringing quantities of cat litter into my home. I had to scoop cat litter out of the box by the dust pan full - I stopped counting after 5. I had to sweep my porch. And then I had to immediately cancel my autoship order so as to avoid repeating this whole process.

I was hoping to pay less. I ended up paying way over budget. order number: 2190162

Ordered 2 - 25# bags of dog food & 2 cases of can dog food. Received the 2 bags on time, but the can food never arrived as scheduled. Called, they said it would arrive the next day. Never arrived. Called again, they had to reorder the food. Delivery day came and went, called up Chewy again, they said it'll arrive the next day - it finally arrived. I'll stick with my old supplier.

I bought some bones for my dog and it cost me a lot more than if I were to go to the store and get them because of the shipping fees. Just not worth it

Product sent, was not product ordered. I ordered a very specific cat food. With specific ingredients and specific ash content (ash content very important for cats with renal / kidney issues). Product that arrived has different ingredients and higher ash content from product ordered. If a company is planning to send a different product from that ordered, the customer should first be advised and asked if they wish to receive the "replacement" product. If I was informed of the "replacement" product I would have said "no, I do not want the "replacement" product. My cats will not eat the "replacement" product and as well one of my cats cannot eat it due to his renal/kidney health issues.
