My first order and last!... My shipment of two boxes of litter and water tower and filters shows up at my condo with litter pouring out of the box.!! I call customer service and we would be glad to resend. I go I appreciate but why would I re order when you clearly paid no professionalism to packing my first order. After 3 years of using this company I am writing this review because they only use FED EX and FED EX continues to deliver to my neighbors, upstairs, even across the street 200 lbs of litter. I have a broken back, I have a huge yellow 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper in plastic with my address on it and I finally had to call Chewy.com and say, if we cannot resolve this then I will have to shop elsewhere. If my $1500+ a year account is not worth using another carrier then I have to go elsewhere. I had to finally speak to a supervisor to get my food for "free" after the customer support person said well some people would charge you shipping? for food I already didn't get? So we shall see if they will guarantee their shipping because if they can't then amazon prime can guarantee delivery and they will lose my business. I foster for our Local shelter and I can't go without food for a litter of animals. Sorry just can't do it.

I recently placed my first and last order with Chewy.com. The product I ordered required a vet's prescription and I provided contact information to them. Instead of following up with the vet, they waited a number of days until I made inquiries before making an inquiry of the vet in earnest. Then, after they did follow through and make contact the two-day shipping for which I paid took five days. This is not good service, this is not acceptable service. Because of the problems I had been having they should have expedited my shipment. They chose not to. I cannot recommend Chewy.com.

I signed up for six week interval auto-ship of my new puppy's food in May. It was a good deal at $37.62 net to my door (from a $49.49 "list" price )for 24 lbs of dry, Blue Buffalo Freedom Puppy. Six weeks later, I was charged a net $51.49 for the same thing. This consisted of a $48.99 "list" price + $4.95 shipping and handling - a 2.45 autoship "discount". I was busy at the time and did not notice. Last Saturday, I was charged $51,29 consisting of a "list" price of $53.99 less an autoship discount of 2,70. I went on line this morning (2 days later) and found that Chew's advertised price for the same item is $42.89. I initiated a chat session with Chewy support and got this gibberish: "Our prices are always subject to fluctuate based on market trends and manufacturer requests." Needless to say, I cancelled my subscription.

So we recently adopted a puppy. Never having one before we needed lots of supplies. After much research we figured we would try out ordering online. I found that chewy had good prices for many things so we went with them for a big order. After a flawless experience I decided to go with the autoship option for my Iams puppy smart 15lb bag of dog food which cost us $19 on the first order. After one month we received the first auto ship and was charged $35. Confused I called chewys and spoke to the operator. He seemed friendly enough and said he would help. But when I explained the situation he told me that the food had gone up $11 and they also charged me for shipping. I explained that there is no way the food could be that much because I could pay the same or less at my local expensive pet store, Amazon had it for $19, Walmart has it for $18 or $30 for a bag double the size. Something had to be wrong. Nope! I was explained autoships are subject to price change and even though I see the food on their site for the original $19 he could not refund me the difference. So after telling him that I would not except this and would never use Chewy again, he offered me a 10% coupon. Screw that!!! I will never use them again. I never really write bad reviews online but I felt I had to share this so others may avoid my frustrations.

I ordered something using an autoship deal several months back. My husband placed an order today, using the same deal, not knowing that I had done the same previously. They called him almost immediately, stating that someone in the household had used the same credit card for the deal and were extremely rude about an honest mistake. He was confused because he didn't know I had an account with them (it's not like we have long conversations over dinner about where we buy our litter and cat food) and the woman who called was increasingly rude. He cancelled the order AND the autoship. Losing a customer and making them feel like a criminal to save $15?! That's bad service.

Chewy use to be a great little company, but a few bad apples have indeed spoiled the bunch. It's true they refund merchandise with no questions asked, but products were routinely damaged, which became irritating. The staff used to be the best thing about Chewy until my last experiences. I wrote a review of a product that I didn't like and mentioned that it wasn't delivered by Chewy for nearly 2 weeks. A Chewy staff member wrote me an e-mail to scold me for writing the review. He mentioned that the reviews can only be about the product. Bull. I can write whatever I want about the product and it's delivery and I certainly don't need to be admonished for it. What's the sense of having reviews if you don't want customers to be candid and limit what they can write about their purchasing experience? Ridiculous. Finally, I recently called to ask a question. The kid who answered the phone kept referring to and addressing me by my e-mail address and would not stop even when asked. Whoever trained him to do that is obtuse. When I called back, the next representative was also obnoxious and addressed me the same way. Put a fork in it, Chewy.

I had two orders in a row of cat litter packed so poorly that UPS actually threw the last shipment away at their call center. After complaining that my order hadn't arrived I tracked the packed and saw in the UPS notes that they had discarded the package due to it coming apart or leaking! I let Chewy know and they told me they would ship a replacement out for a 2-3 day delivery. That didn't happen and when I brought it to their attention and asked for a full refund (just $35) they offered me a 15% discount. I won't be back.
