Take caution when using Chewy! The website itself was never an issue for me. My issue is with how chewy's system does their payment. I ordered multiple items totaling $171.42. They took the $171.42 out of my account right then. The items shipped in 3 seperate packages and they charged 3 separate charges for what was in each package for a total of the $171.42 (there was still a hold for the original $171.42 for a total charge to my account for $342.84). I recieved all 3 packages and yet there is still a hold on the original $171.42, 5 days later I still am out a total of $342.84! Customer service was of no help. They told me that the hold must have gotten "stuck" and I needed to do a 3 way call with my bank for them to release the $171.42 so I can have it back otherwise I will never get it back! They said there was absolutely NOTHING else they could do for me! I can not do a 3 way call with my bank, however, luckily my bank has a security policy and will only hold for so long before they automatically put it back in my account so, I should get my money back in a few days only because of my banks policy not because chewy released the hold of my money!. Chewy seems to have a pretty shady "system" for their payments and finds some way to cheat people out of their money. I will never do business with them again for taking too much money out of my account without my authorization, and then giving me a hassle for getting it back!

I placed my 1st & last order with Chewy 8/31/19 at 6 pm. It's 9/4/19, 6 pm and I still don't have my order. It's been "out for delivery" for 2 day's now. Chewy charged my bank acct 8/31 and received payment but I'm still waiting. What's the advantage? Next time I'll order from Walmart.com. Same or better pricing and good service on shipping. I'm not impressed and I'm so glad I didn't choose "autoship". My dog will be out of his food tomorrow

If I could leave no stars I would. My vet referred me to this company as they carry a dry cat food no longer available on the shelves. BEWARE, they double-dip in your bank account. The company drop ships and you will see itemized withdrawals, but then they go back and put a PENDING HOLD for the total balance. My bank said, a hold is a hold, pending or not, hence for 36 hours $39.02 was frozen. NO company has the authorization to double-dip. When I spoke TO the CS mgr he could not have been more detached, spoke a mile-a-minute and said he would send me a 'pending hold' release for my bank. When does anyone have time to deal with this kind of thing in life. I sure don't. NEVER AGAIN AND I WILL LET MY VET KNOW THIS MORNING.

Here's my review! I'm an educated guy, practiced medicine for years, have three girls and four rescue animals. We're hardly a dispassionate family. Chewy.com had what we were looking for and so I signed up and began plugging in my info (pretty common for any online purchase these days). However, I suddenly realized that my order had been processed (before I wanted) even after backing out online. Not only did my order go through but I then discovered that there's virtually NO WAY to cancel a Chewy.com order. Try it, I challenge you! So, while they have a plethora of amazing, well-priced products, nothing they have you cannot find on Amazon or elsewhere. And... the obvious and distinct difference is that AMAZON (for instance) actually let's you cancel an order, change it, change the shipping prefs or anything else. CHEWY.COM DOES NOT!!! AND, IF THEY SAY OTHERWISE THEY'RE FLAT OUT LYING TO YOU!!!! I had to take/pay for a shipment of an order only $2 short of free shipping because I could not change or cancel my order in order to meet the prepaid minimum. If you're reading this...do yourself a favor and make a wise, consumer-choice, and go the Amazon route or another platform that actually acts like providing customer-options is a business' duty. Don't, IMHO, go with a company who's entire attitude is tough *#*$ when it comes to purchases online. For a pet-friendly company, they'reass$*@*$ to human purchasers.

We had to return some harnesses because they were too big for my dogs. They told us that they’d return the money in 3-5 business days. A week went by so I called again saying that they hadn’t returned the money. They said to wait until the next day because it hadn’t been “a full week in business days”. We waited until Friday the next week and STILL NO RETURN OF OUR MONEY. We’re never buying from Chewy again, this seems like a scam and they aren’t true to their word.

shipment arrived late and they lied despite proof. 75 bucks every couple months for five years and their apology is a one dollar coupon. Account closed, avoid them at all cost. They can't even have the same customer service rep contact you. My stuff always comes from goodyear, az 3 hours away. they tried to tell me it came out of state and explained shipping time after they "reviewed my order." After I blew that up it became the feigned one dollar coupon apology while taking no responsibility. That type of behavior is not worth saving the tax on dog food.

I placed an order yesterday for $230. Chewy charged my debit card for that amount plus placed an additional hold on my account for $215, thus over drawing my account. They told me it's common practice to add the additional hold and it "usually" comes off within 24 hours. I will never order from them again.
