I really have no fault with Chewy shipment and promptness, "but" their prices have increased EVERY month. My orders went from 41.03, to 51.27 to 53.99 in the last 3 months alone! When I called customer Service this morning I was told it does "fluctuate up & down". I asked her why it never has fluctuated down on any of my orders? Jessica said she can understand that I want the best price and she understood if I wanted to look around. what? that's it...oh well.

Chewy keeps sending my vitamins in with the canned food without good packing. It has been smoothed. Called last 2 months and they replaced it no problem but they need to fix this issue. Frustrating.

I would of gave them five stars. Due to have great customer service, and receiving my dogs food on time every month.... But.. I figured since I spend $48 dollars every month on dog food, and have it automatically shipped to my house every month, that they would throw in free shipping... Now I'm not going to stop getting my dog food through them, just a little disappointed. The point of ordering online is to save money, and time. But if i'm going to be charged 5-9 dollars in shipping I might as well go to the local pet market and get my food for the extra 9 dollars brings me to 57 dollars a month and doesn't really save me any money... Although, I did here that on amazon if you do autoship you get 15% off your order every month...Might want to do something to accommodate and compete with that 15% off autopay.

The customer service is incredible, and they really go out of their way to help you. HOWEVER one time my dog's food went out of stock (I later learned it was recalled because the labels were printed incorrectly), and it was the ONLY type of food my dog could eat without getting sick. I had enough food to last him those two weeks, but then once they shipped it they ended up shipping it from a different location and it was going to take a whole week to arrive. My dog completely ran out of food and ended up getting sick when I tried giving him something else until his food arrived. He would not have made it had I not called over 30 places in my area asking them if they had this specific brand. Luckily one place had 5 cans left so I was able to snag them in time. I was so disappointed in Chewy. I called them and asked them to just ship me another order of his food and I would pay whatever was needed to do overnight shipping, but they said they didn't have that option. WHAT are other customers supposed to do if they run out of food and Chewy doesn't offer to send it to them ASAP? It was really disappointing and ruined my day because I had to frantically call every store and vet around me to get some stupid cans of dog food.

I have been purchasing food at Chewy.com for almost a full year now. At first, everything was great but as time has gone on I have received consistently damaged food packaging. At first I didn't say anything about it but the last two or three monthly orders have been damaged more than usual. I received cans that were so bent that I did not feel they were safe to feed my dogs. I have received kibble, today and in another shipment, that much of it was crushed to a sand-like consistency and the bag was torn open and food all over the shipping box. The damage is not due to FedEx because the main shipping box is always in excellent shape. But once I open it the goods inside are often in pretty rough condition. Good things about Chewy.com is that they have low prices, free shipping, a wide variety of pet products, and superior customer service. They credit my account for damaged food and they are sending me a replacement bag of kibble for no charge. I appreciate that very much but I would rather get my pet food in good shape to begin with. I have decided that I am going to give the company one more chance to send me undamaged pet food. If they can't do it, I am going to shop elsewhere.

To start, I like this service. I have to buy hypoallergenic food for my dog and it is a bit cheaper than the vet. I signed up for auto ship to save 5%. Each month I receive an email notifying me that shipment is about to go out and the estimated price. You're actually charged the current price on the day of shipment. Twice now when my order has shipped the price has gone up over $20 what is estimated. Both times when I checked the price on the site the next day it had gone back down to the previously estimated price. I'll now monitor the price over a couple of days and order myself when it's cheapest.

My dog needs a special type of dog food due to allergies. My vet ran out of Royal Canin so I desperately needed to find a second source. Finding this site, I ordered a bag (at a much higher price than my vet but I was out of options). I kept checking the site as to when I would receive it. After a week, I call and they told me that, for some reason, it was on hold somewhere. They said they would "rush ship" me another bag and comp me for my troubles. Two days later, they told me they were out of stock. I ordered a different brand of food (which I did get). About a week later, I was notified that the original order was finally shipping. When I checked my credit card bill, I discovered that I was bill for the second order (which I expected) AND the first one (which they said that I would not be charged due to my inconvenience). It's the last time that I will use them since they don't seem to have a handle on their business practices.

This is no review of the products themselves, but if you buy something breakable, be aware that they do an absolutely horrible job of packaging. The first time I bought a stoneware dog bowl, and they sent it to me in a padded envelope. Needless to say, it was chipped. The customer service was excellent and he had a new one shipped out immediately. He said he would make a note for them to use a box, which they didn't. The replacement was also in a padded envelope, but this time they wrapped the bowl in more bubble wrap and it made it intact. Then last week I ordered five stoneware dog treat cannisters. They came in a box where each one was inside a bubblewrap bag, and there was a little kraft paper to take up extra space on one side of the box, but that was it. No air bags or bubblewrap between the breakable cannisters or the sides of the box. No padding on top. And the contents came to about 1/2 inch from the top of the box, so anything heavy thrown on top of the box would of course break them. 2 out of the 5 were broken. Again they sent out replacements immediately, but it's hard to believe the shipping department is that clueless as to package breakables this way.
