Until recently Chewy was the only pet store I used for my cat and dog. I had given them 5 stars. Then I discovered the dog food for my aging pug was actually cheaper from my veterinarian. I still used them for other pet supplies, and I usually received my order within a couple days. This last time, however, they didn't even ship it for 3 days, and when I called to inquire, the representative I spoke with said she honestly didn't know. It has now been a week, and tracking info just tells me "pending," which is not acceptable.

I ordered medication for my kitten from Chewy. I ordered the wrong weight/strength for my animal so the vet had me call and correct that with Chewy. That part went okay because they answered (By phone) quickly, but the operator seemed confused. Yet, he assured me he corrected the order. Then I waited a few days and the confirmation email nor the medicine ever came. I called to follow up and see where my order was but the operator this time said oh yes it was just recently ordered... I asked, did you do it just now-? And he admitted yes! I said this is a problem because my cat needs this medication ASAP and I was met with silence- no apology or anything- just total silence. Just at the end a generic “have a good day.” 😤 It was very frustrating, he could really not care less. Then I checked my balance and they charged me the full price, no discount I was promised for auto delivery. In total: a terrible experience. I would NEVER RECOMMEND CHEWY. I don’t think they really even care about animals. If they did, they’d have people that express concern over their mistakes when ordering my kitten’s medicine.

Maggots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had been a customer for at least two years. My orders ranged between $400-500+ bimonthly and when cans usually arrived dented they would always replace them. My Last $ 500 order was an experience I'll never forget. One of the cases of canned Organix dog food was so destroyed, maggots were crawling all around the inside of the case of 12 , and on my hand and wrist! I sent them a photo and letter via snail mail and also mentioned 9 other cans from another case were destroyed. I was down 21 cans and only received 12 - no apology - no appropriate compensation. Bye Chewys -- you lost a good customer!

Chewy used to be good but it’s not anymore. I have issues with shipments all the time. They pretend to care but for the most part their emails look like templates they use and don’t address the problem. If you have got so big you don’t care about your customers quit faking it!

I cannot say how disappointed and frustrated I am with this company. Twice I tried to order dog food from here so that it came every three weeks. At about the fourth week it never came so I called. They said the credit card was declined??? Never had issues before. Then we put a different card on the account and they said we would get the dog food by Monday. Guess what it never came. I am through with this company since they are not reliable for the food delivery. They seem to have issues with their server and with customer service following through. I would recommend you save yourself the time and frustration and go elsewhere.

I ordered from Chewy and several days after it should have shown up I called to ask where it was. I was told it was damaged and that they would put in another order. I was told that order would arrive no later than Monday. It's Tuesday and still no order. I called again. This time they said it's due to the wildfires yet no one else is having trouble getting packages to us and due to our business we receive packages about every other day. Then they said they were putting in another order and it would be here in 4 more days. If they had to put in yet another order then that one did not ship. I feel I've been lied to and given the run around. If there is something you need within a time limit or else you'll run out of it, do not order from Chewy.

I ordered my stuff over a week ago, they sent me an email saying it shipped and would be here on the 18th and nothing. I chatted with someone from Fed Ex gave the the tracking # and was told they were still waiting for chewy to give the package to them. I called Chewy customer service and was told they would ship it out that day. I checked on it and it still hasn't been shipped. They guaranteed that it would be shipped in 3 days it's been over a week and they still haven't shipped it. This is my first and last time ordering from them.

This week I received my order for 2-14 lb. bags of cat litter, 1-6 lb. bag of cat food and some toys that totaled a little more than $53. I am 71 years old, I live on the 3rd floor of any apartment bldg, and I am not suppose to leave my apt unless absolutely necessary because of this pandemic. My instructions are clearly stated on the label showing on the box delivered to leave by apartment door. Fedex person got access to my building from someone else and completely disregarded my instructions and left my 34 lb box downstairs under the mail box. When I called Chewy and complained the response was "well can't you get a neighbor to bring the box up for you". Really?? Because the Fedex person chose to ignore the explicit instructions on the label I have to inconvenience a neighbor to help me with this large box? When I told Chewy that I feel I should be compensated for this inconvenience and mentioned that I am considering telling my bank to reverse the charge, his response was, "You can tell call your bank, but we are not refunding you anything" and he hung up on me. Then a supervisor called me Saturday morning to tell me that they filed a complaint against Fedex but they were informed that a Fedex driver would not be able to come back and bring my package up to my door and, once again, asked if I had a neighbor who could do it for me and that at this time they cannot compensate me for this situation. If you have an older or disabled person in your life that you love and care about and they use Chewy for any of their animals needs, and if they have experienced what I have even once, they should be encourage to not use Chewy again. There are other, more reliable and customer-oriented services available that do a much better job in handling these kinds of situations. I had not used Chewy in awhile and thought I would give them a chance. NEVER AGAIN!!
