Chewy was there for us when we lost our pet
We ordered some "prescription" food for our cat who ended up in the hospital and was going to need this specific food when he got home. It was food that the vet had to confirm for Chewy that we needed, so basically prescription food that was also pretty pricey compared to a usual 20 lb bag of cat food. We spent $150 dollars on dry and wet food and it was delivered to our house. We sadly had to put our cat down in the hospital. We still had this box of unopened wet and dry prescription cat food. We called to return and get a refund for the food, to which the customer service lady asked "was there anything wrong with it", no, and then she asked "did something happen to your cat", yes we had to put him down. Her response was "that makes this different then, we will give you a full refund and please take that food to a local shelter". So we got our money back and took the unopened full box of food we got from chewy to our local shelter. We were really impressed by that, and it did not end there. Already we were really touched that they handled our situation with such care and kindness, but then a couple days later there was a box at our door and we got flowers and a heartfelt sympathy card from the customer service lady we spoke with from Chewy when we called about returning the food. I was blown away that they sent that to us! I have never heard of this from anyone else so experiencing it first hand was really amazing. So thankful and truly grateful to Chewy for their kindness and thoughtfulness of our hard situation. If you are not a customer of Chewy let this be an example to you that they will take care of you no matter what happens and always do the right thing.
