A Customer for Life and Now a Chewy Investor
We have long been a price-conscience consumer and a customer of Chewy because of its great pricing and helpful customer service, but now we are committed to the company forever. Two days ago we lost one of our beloved golden retrievers, Gracie, an aged girl that required special food and meds that we received from Chewy. Tearfully calling customer service to discontinue future shipments, my wife was overwhelmed by the service agent’s kindness and unexpected refund for this month’s purchase, further suggesting that we might donate unused/unopened food to a shelter. Today, I am more overwhelmed. This morning I opened the door to a flower delivery – from Chewy – expressing the company’s condolences for our loss. Now mind you, I never expected this unbelievable level of service and kindness to come from an on-line company. Believing certainly that Chewy must be a privately-held, family-based business, I was shocked to just learn it is a publicly-traded company on the NYSE. Any American company that cares this deeply for its customers is here to stay, and I want to be a part of it! Albeit only a tiny ownership, I am proud to have just made a buy order for Chewy stock. As reported in Chewy’s 10-K, 94% of dog owners consider their pets to be family. Thank you Chewy for recognizing my Gracie a part of my family. God bless you all.
