Have been ordering from Chewy for years. Some issues recently--past year or so.. Shipping seems to be a bit slower. Not as generous about returns as in the early years. Customer service reps polite, but not always helpful. Lower prices at Walmart without having to spend 50.00 for free shipping. But of course chewy has great selection and home delivery. Most concerning is that they solicit reviews on every product, but do not publish those that express legitimate concerns and are written according to their submission guidelines. After thorough research and after speaking with my home vet, I took the time to write a constructive review of a dog food brand which followed all Chewy guidelines for submission, but the review was never posted. Who are they protecting? Certainly not our dogs. There are numerous reviews about dented cans and other minor concerns. Yet they did not publish my review about a label that reveals there might be issues with long term feeding due to extremely minimum fat content of the dog food. Chewy vet by chat very nonchalant also. Did not seem knowledgeable about AAFCO feeding and labeling requirements. Did not investigate thoroughly or indicate she would would contact manufacturer. My home vet advised stopping the diet ASAP due to extremely low fat content. Chewy was unconcerned, seemed to be protecting manufacturer and Chewy itself.

Customer service has really gone downhill. I used to brag about how their customer service outdid any other pet food company, but l definitely won't any more. Their representatives have become very incompetent, I've had to call several tines for the EXACT same issue! Each call was almost 30 minutes waiting for an answer! The last time WILL be the LAST TIME I'll ever buy from Chewy! Horrible customer service l received the last 3 times calling them! Ongoing issue from January '24 still going on and it's the end of March!

Fed Ex sent early morning email saying delivery today. I had to go to the grocery store early this morning in the pouring rain and was in the pet section and did not get food or litter knowing my order was coming today. At 10 AM I track my order - Fed Ex shows UPDATE: delivery tomorrow. The distribution location is 15 minutes from my house so it’s been sitting 15 minutes from me for two days now. I called chewy customer service letting them know I was upset about this and the only thing I was told is that if I wasn’t happy, I could return my order when it arrived - nothing else. I canceled all future shipments. FedEx is not reliable and I’m not impressed with chewy Customer Service at all. I won’t use them again. And this is not the first issue I have had with unreliability with chewy.

26Jan2024-I had been a $600.-700.00+ monthly auto ship Chewy.com customer since Summer 2018, almost 6 years. I chose Chewy because they did have a good reputation and carried the Orijen dog chow I could not obtain locally. Over past 2 years, this last year being the worst, their dependable, timely service decreased and now no longer exists. I may get one bag within 3-4 days another one or two bags a day or two or a week or longer later. The auto date you choose they move up by 2-4 days which can be an inconvenience. It’s been over 6 months since returning a product, there has been no money refunded to my credit card. They were contacted about the issue, no response, which is not unusual. Their auto ship membership prices had also increased, no longer representing a savings over other retailer’s store prices. After times speaking with the manager of our local PetSense found 4 months ago they began stocking Orijen and insure no less than the 5 large bags I need are on hand the first of every month. In addition I receive a $ off my purchase as reward every month and every 10th bag is free (a $120.00 savings). I’ve gone back to buying the Purina/Friskies and 9 Lives cat chows I need from Walmart. The only thing I order from Chewy now is 3 bags of Journey puppy chow, which may also stop, and if I need replacement parts for elevated pet beds or if they have a cost effective sale on reflective collars or pet clothing. My orders for this month were again spread out, received over 2 weeks with winter weather not being a factor. The convenience of delivery is not worth sacrificing the health and welfare of my rescue pets or the unnecessary addition expense of being forced to buy and feed what is not their established diet.

Not long ago I would have given them a 5. But there are 3 big problems with Chewy. First has become false advertising. They have constant ads for sale prices and for low prices if you buy with autoship. These all disappear as soon as you click on the product or try to get the autoship price. You will never find that discounted price that made you click on the link in the first place. Recently I gave up and went elsewhere due to this false advertising. Second: they ship FedEx; as noted in other reviews FedEx delivers by dropping the box in the middle of the street or similar. The packaging has also become worse with items banging around loose in boxes. Third: be aware that you cannot trust their onsite reviews because if you leave any negative comments about a product they will contact you directly and pressure you to change your review. This definitely influences people to just not leave any negative comments. This used to be my "go-to" source for pet supplies but the company has been changing and not in a positive way. I am sorry to see it.

I am honestly over the edge with Chewy. Every time I try to benefit from their "promotions" I receive an error at checkout. The details and expiration dates are not transparent and the rules seem to change on a whim. At checkout I've experienced my autoship items no longer on sale and the price is hiked way up. Or the promotion doesn't include autoship and an error pops up "not available for autoship." If I transfer everything from autoship into my cart an error pops up "too late- expired." It's just not worth it to me anymore. The whole experience has become a hassle, disappointing, frustrating and is not saving me time or money.

The customer service is kind of useless. Appreciate that they're based here rather than a random call center overseas, but I had ordered a dog carrier that I needed to receive by a certain date. I ordered from chewy specifically because they said it would arrive on time. When the shipment went out, though, the arrival time was suddenly days after I was scheduled to leave. I called them to see if they could send another and expedite shipping (they don't have that option), and their suggestion was to order the same product again and see if it would by chance arrive earlier.... Which was a totally nonsensical suggestion that would likely leave me with two dog carriers sitting on the porch for the three weeks I'll be out of town.
