Pros and Cons Psychiatrist Edition
My review is solely for the Psychiatrist portion. The pros: It is affordable ($100 a month) They treat Bipolar 1 and 2 I can see my doctor as many times as needed I can schedule it when I need it They take some insurance Their help center is pretty decent in responses (had to get emergency meds on vacay) I've never had an issue getting my meds Cons: You kinda have to have some idea of what your diagnosis might be otherwise it might take a bit of time to get the meds right and figure out a diagnosis that fits you. It is telehealth so you really need to be an advocate and lead some of the conversations as far as how you feel. I've been with Cerebral for like 5 years now and I don't know what I'd be able to afford without them.

Good accessibility!
I’d like to start off by saying it really is a shame that money is so involved in getting mental health care in this country. That being said, cerebral definitely helped give me access to almost instant appts! No money required until after little after my first session, when I began looking for a provider my in person one kind of fell off the face of the earth and I was in a pinch for refilling my meds. Once I made my account there were even same day appts available. Definitely more accessible than a lot of sites, with my insurance I end up paying less than $10 for my appts.

I have found a great therapist thru…
I have found a great therapist thru cerebral who has really been a good listener and given me some tips for sorting things through! Best choice I’ve made to join. The only issue I have with it is that the app uses doxy and I can’t get doxy.me to connect to my Bluetooth earbuds which limits where I’m able to do my therapy

Accessible and affordable
I'm a skeptic when it comes to any psychiatry, especially online due to previous bad experiences. I've been seeing psychiatrists since age 13 and have meet only one who was really great. That said, Cerebral is a decent service. It makes psychiatry more accessible for someone like myself who is between insurance right now. For $95 I was able to meet with a provider and not pay the exorbitant fees psychs usually require for an "intake" appointment. We met for about 30 minutes and I was able to get all of my meds prescribed and sent to my pharmacy immediately after. It was really easy to get an appointment, and every provider I looked at had a number of available times. No psychiatrist is going to be great usually, and Cerebral wasn't an exception, but they did what was needed and made it fairly accessible, which is more than I can usually say.
