Think Twice Before You Commit
I went with Cerebral because of all the glowing reviews, but I have no idea what service these people had because that was not my experience at all. 1. Prescriber visit The prescriber I had was new to Cerebral. She seemed highly frustrated with her first experience and was kind of abrasive in her evaluation. When I tried to answer certain questions, she would cut me off if I was going into too much detail - which I thought was the point. Towards the end of the appointment I was told that my ADHD and depression couldn’t be treated at the same because ADHD requires stimulant medication which would interfere with anxiety (apparently I have mild anxiety) so I would be given medication for depression/anxiety. But then she backtracked and stated Cerebral doesn’t offer stimulant medication so we would discuss other treatment non-stimulant options on the next visit. Umm…what? So I couldn’t be treated for both because of stimulant medication and then once she realized stimulant medication couldn’t be prescribed, I still wasn’t given treatment options for ADHD? Alrighty then. She wasn’t very convinced I had ADHD, even though I’m more than willing to provide prior records from a psychiatrist that verified I have it so I do believe that was her way of not being bothered with that diagnoses. 2. Medication I was told medication would be sent to a local pharmacy which I thought was weird since Cerebral has the option to have medication shipped. To my horror, I learned that Cerebral does offer this service and the prescriber didn’t even mention it. I know from first-hand experience that medication at the pharmacy is costly and would probably be more than what Cerebral costs so I reached out immediately to support and that was just the beginning of the nightmare. From my end, the medication was never sent to the pharmacy and it wasn’t within the list of medications in my account. The care coordinator told me that she could switch my medication next month to Cerebral. Next month? First off, I don’t even have any information about THIS MONTH! 3. Support is downright useless Support NEVER addressed my issues at all. When I asked about the medication issue, I was re-directed to my care coordinator who didn’t offer any solutions at all except for switching the pharmacy to Cerebral next month. No information of when I could get the medication, when it was sent to the pharmacy, how long it would take , etc. Secondly, I asked to switch providers MULTIPLE times and they NEVER addressed that concern. Instead I was offered a discount off of a 3 month subscription. Why would I continue with the service that hasn’t even addressed my concerns. Every single email back and forth with support was me literally trying to explain my situation and them offering not an ounce of solution. All I wanted was to be changed to a different prescriber and to know what the heck was going on with the medication but I never got any answers. I am beyond frustrated that I wasted my money and my time trying to get help with this company. Companies like this should not be allowed to operate so poorly with folks that are dealing with mental health concerns.
