I only had only 1 session with a counselor that went really well. I got a notice that they changed my counselor, which I’m not happy with. I hope this new counselor is just as good as the first one I chose. So much for choosing. There’s been a few what cerebral calls glitches in their system.

It started very well with nice people and very responsive. Right after the 1st week I got something prescribed though the person they assigned me quit the job and they asked me to do the switch myself. haven’t heard from them since then. Now, the start was good, but isn’t much more important to keep track (and an eye) after a cure is assigned?!

I had significant problems with the company and had a very long review here posted of all of these issues and the company has addressed every single one. So I have updated my review from a 1 star to a 3 star. The service isn't for me but it could be for someone else.. My first and primary concern was that the specific counselor I was matched with didn't seem to be the right fit. I decided to start Cerebral because I am on an upswing and I know that these are temporary for me. So I told my counselor that I have depression and severe anxiety and explained additional other symptoms I experience as well as detailed that I am currently in an upswing but have debilitating bad days... She was NICE but the counselor said many things that struck me as dangerous for someone in my situation (ie: “Medication is messing up your body”“Sometimes I wake up sad and tell myself ‘there’s nothing wrong’ and I push through” "I have clients that are depressed and I don't think you are depressed" When I tried to press her that no...I am depressed and need help she said "Your problem is that you just aren't happy enough") These problems are obviously specific to the counselor and hey...she may be the one for someone else. Cerebral has thousands of counselors and my experience with this counselor is no different than trying a new independent. On top of my issues on an individual basis I also had scheduling trouble and my first appointment was scheduled for the following Tuesday and there was an attempt made to reschedule for the 3rd week of the month. This was able to be rectified at the time when I complained. Canceling was a chore and I was led to believe that I would have to pay for the 2nd month because of the delay in cancellation but Cerebral refunded me which is outside of their terms because of my experience. This caused a genuine panic attack because I was uncomfortable with having taken the plunge to start Cerebral in the first place because of the expense and knowing that I may have to pay an additional month for a service that ended up not helping was stressful...

Its seemed good when I first joined I was able to talk to someone really quickly and my prescription was called in to my local pharmacy. However sense then its been very lacking ive tried several times to get help with my increasing anxiety but so far the only reply ive gotten is a breathing exercise basically

The app is OK. It is a little confusing to try and schedule any appointments with your providers. The calendars do not always seem to have been updated properly.

My time was short with Cerebral due to several factors. First off like so many others they do not accept any insurance that is state issued. So the first month is usually not to bad as they constantly run sales kinda like the big chain furniture store that runs sales on EVERY holiday !! But look out after those 30 days are up depending on the plan you choose it can cost close to 400.00 not including your meds if you are prescribed any. The people that I dealt with from the 1st assessment interviewer to the Dr assigned AKA my provider and my therapist was very nice. The only problem that I had was that I had been under care for over 15 + years lost dr due to loss of insurance. But I had already done the trial of so many medications that did not work for me. I did not want to start that all over again it's a waste of my time their time not to mention $$ and no progress or relief for me. I know what meds worked for me after many years of trial & error and could prove it I was willing to sign consent to medical records but was told they have to start out with specific meds 1st before going to the others. Couldn't give an actual length of time but definitely 90 days or more. I couldn't deal with another day let alone 90 and no guarantee that I would get them. I found a local place that took my insurance for low income have the same benefits as Cerebral offers plus I actually get the meds I needed without starting all over. My advice check around make some calls before jumping into this unless you just have a free pot of $$ laying around....

Difficult to make appointments. I’ve been offered 3 am appointments 3 times. The therapist I was assigned to doesn’t have an opening for 2 months. New medication has been very helpful.

I liked the speed at which I was able to schedule and speak with both a medication prescriber and a counselor, however I felt rushed in both appointments. It felt like the providers were almost getting annoyed with me when I went into detail about anything, and the responses were very textbook seeming. It didn’t feel very individualized for me. I did only chose the cheapest option, and I assumed the more expensive monthly subscriptions may be more thorough. I have been wanting to try medication therapy for a long time, and have been hesitant because finding a psychiatrist can be challenging. It was super easy to get the medication and begin taking them within the first week. This I liked the best. Unfortunately I just can’t afford to continue with the lack of talk therapy; I am a big advocate for using both, therapy and medication, as a means of thorough care for best results.
