When you have calls with your team (therapist or prescriber), the people are wonderful, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. My criticism would be the follow-up. My therapist didn't log on for our last call and never reached out afterwards. For my prescription, I always have to reach out last minute to get a refill before running out, instead of them refilling it automatically like they should.

I am paying for the monthly plan where I see a care counselor and a prescriber one time a month. I have not yet had any issues getting my next visit in time. Last month I couldn’t get rescheduled in time, but I tried to reschedule my visit every day and several earlier appointments opened up. I have had to do something similar with mental health providers before in the past and honestly this is way easier than calling every morning to inquire about any cancellations for a sooner appointment. My med management provider is very sweet. However I wish they allowed more time to discuss meds and answer questions about the meds. It seems a little rushed and if I didn’t have the knowledge already I’d feel a little lost being prescribed some of these medications for the first time. My care counselor is very, very sweet and empathetic. It’s important to realize the care counselors don’t offer therapy services, and if you require therapy you’ll need to upgrade the plan or find a therapist outside Cerebral. It’s hard for me to imagine what is supposed to be accomplished in a 30 minute session with a care counselor, but it is nice to check in regularly with someone who is affiliated with the same platform as your provider. My care counselor will also respond to messages in the chat addressed to her, and send me resources in between appointments if and when I need them. So that’s nice. I try to refrain from trying to get into “actual therapy” with her though because she sometimes provides advice or suggestions that will not work for me whatsoever under current circumstance and it gets me spiraling even further. The app itself is rather glitchy with the sound, but it seems they are pushing an update to resolve that. I think they should increase visit time with a prescribing provider to thirty minutes like most others do. It worries me that they seem to prescribe without spending the time to thoroughly review medication expectations, side effects, and strategy to reach a target dose. Based on these experiences, I wasn’t moved enough to upgrade the plan to acquire the therapy services I needed and instead opted to keep searching for a therapist. My primary care clinic initially referred me here since they are unable to diagnose and treat one of my concerns so I solely seek help for that one concern and medication. I don’t think I’d feel adequately supported if I were seeking more than that.

I signed up for this service during a "special". Like some of the other reviews, I began paying out of pocket because my insurance would not go through on the website. When filling out the questionnaire I was very clear about my diagnosis of bipolar I disorder and sought out a team that specializes in that area of care. I was assigned two care coordinators and a prescriber. My appointment for my prescriber was set up within two weeks with my appointment for the care coordinator the day after. The day of my appointment with the prescriber I received a message saying she had to cancel due to an emergency. I tried to reschedule but she had nothing available for two months! When I requested a refund I was told they do not give refunds even if the service is not used. So, I decided to wait it out. I met with the care coordinator as previously scheduled. The 30 minute phone call (video apparently was not working on her end) was basically her telling me about the company. Each appointment is only allotted 30 minutes. A new prescriber was assigned to me and an appointment was set. I kept that appointment and once again video was not working on her end and the 30 minute phone call was, as she put it, "intake" information and telling me about the company. I was told by this prescriber that I had to meet with yet another prescriber and they would be the one to order my medication! I asked how long it would take to get the appointment and she said they would contact me in a day or two. No one contacted me for a week. Finally, another appointment was scheduled with yet another prescriber but it was set for another two weeks out which took me into my second month. After receiving the payment for the second month which was full price, I received a message saying that the prescriber they had set my appointment with could not see patients in my state and they had no "self-pay" prescriber that treated bipolar disorder at this time. I later found out there was severe miscommunication within the company and they DID in fact have a prescriber to treat me. The appointment was made quickly and she was great! Our appointment wasn't quite complete within 30 minutes so she called me back during her break to complete the appointment. Ms. Boyd was attentive and knowledgeable. She listened to my concerns about my illness and addressed them quickly. We came up with a treatment plan and scheduled another appointment within a week. Though my original post was quite negative, I updated this post because cerebral reached out to me in an effort to make things right. So far, they have done their best to apologize for my negative experience and make things better.

For a while I had a really hard time getting my providers to take my adhd concerns seriously. Julie Polcyn was probably the worst provider I ever had unfortunately! The only reason I’m still with cerebral is because of Melissa Cosgrove. She is amazing! She listened to my concerns and got me the care I need and put me on a stimulant and my quality of life has finally improved and my mental health is so much better. She is fantastic. She deserves a pay raise!

Cerebral is good, but not great. I love the access but only having an appt once a month doesn’t seem very helpful.

Everything was fine til I had to change my payment method and start ovet..I've had 2 appointments scheduled with a doctor who was not qualified to prescribe my medication and then I got rescheduled for a month from now even though I need my medication refilled tomorrow and now I'm just getting a lot of excuses. My account says I have 2 refills till I need to see a dragon, but they will not call in a refill to my pharmacy. I'm quite annoyed.

I like this servic and the concept but with it doesn’t always work with insurances and the availability of counselors isn’t always there. however they do give discounts if needed so that’s a plus!

2/8 Update: they promised me a 40% discount for 3 months how poor my experience has been, and I’ve already had to contact support because that also wasn’t applied. I would be more satisfied if the monthly fee were lower or non existent. For the first 4ish months I had a hard time finding a prescriber who didn’t quit, finding a care counselor who didn’t cancel last minute, or getting my mail order in on time so I didn’t have to stop my meds. Now, these issues have worked themselves out, and I just accept the fee, but I’ll definitely be switching if I can find a cheaper alternative.
