Cerebral is an option if you are struggling to find a psychiatrist in your area who meets your needs. That being said they are not without issues. I have had my medicine be delayed or not shipped on time and getting in contact with your doctor can be difficult. Additionally, the app can be buggy. Customer service is responsive, and the people working there are always kind when they speak to you. Unfortunately, I have changed care teams so much I don't even remember who it is at this point. I will continue to use it because I just don't have a lot of other options, and if you are in a similar state I would say it is better than a bad psychiatrist or nothing, but they definitely have room for improvement.

The staff is incredibly nice, but their platform and business practices are sketchy. I went 2 separate months being unable to schedule an appointment with my therapist, and I cancelled after the second and asked for a refund since I had no chance to get any benefit from it. I was essentially told that I'm not paying for their services, but the benefit of being able to log into their website. Refund denied. After leaving this review I was promptly contacted and refunded the money for when I was unable to schedule an appointment. I’ve added a star to reflect this resolution, but I still find it concerning that I had to go to these lengths to get it.

The staff is incredibly nice and competent. Who you've hired to interact with the public is top-notch. The app/product still feels riddled with bugs. I have to repeatedly ask for help scheduling sessions with anyone because the calendar system available to users on their own shows staff as booked for three months out. I almost always have trouble with your video calling. It seems like a different problem each time I attempt to use it. Half the time, I give up and just call in via phone.

I have been using Cerebral for about six months. It's generally convenient and certainly a decent way to quickly book mental health services -- but it's clearly a service in its infancy that has many operational issues to overcome. The medication management services are passable but disorganized. Frequently I would be told by "care coordinators" assigned to me that prescriptions were submitted to my pharmacy when they weren't. I eventually switched medication management to my primary care provider. Another major complaint is that the company does not currently provide detailed bills/invoices that can be submitted to insurance companies. They just offer basic "proof of payment" receipts. There is built-in functionality that allows you to automatically submit details to your insurance provider, but it is not compatible with all insurers and I've never been able to get it to work for me. When I reached out to support for documentation that was appropriate to submit to my insurance company, I was first told to download those wrong receipts as if I didn't know what I was asking for. After correcting the representative I was in contact with, I had to wait several weeks to get the correct documentation. By that time, another month of services had been billed to me and I had to not only ask for the latest month's detailed invoice but then had to wait for another several weeks for it. The talk therapist I was originally assigned was not terribly effective and after a few weeks I was coincidentally informed that they would no longer be working with the company. The one I was reassigned to since then I've found to be quite good. If I recall correctly, there were only two or three therapists available in my state. I do appreciate how the service allows me to make last-minute changes/cancellations/bookings although I do feel bad about that when it happens. Video sessions typically work (they run through the Doxy.me service) but there have been several times when the platform was unusable and my therapist and I had to talk over the phone. The website/mobile app also has a few techniques and exercises that you can follow, but they're very basic and probably not much better/different than something you can find yourself with a quick Google search. It's disappointing that it seems the company is interested in scale, growth, and celebrity sponsorships instead of working out important bugs in their product.

High turnover of counselors and prescribers make it difficult to develop a relationship. Customer service is unhelpful when you can reach them. Could be a good service if they could keep employees. Edit: customer service reached out to me to resolve my biggest complaint. I appreciate the response and will update my review accordingly, even though it took leaving a negative review to get a meaningful response.

Cerebral offers online or telephone based therapy sessions with a standard of once per month on a subscription basis. The service is good idea but high demand and their billing policy leave a lot to be desired when it comes to getting actual help. Pros: The provider I spoke with (who sadly left the company) was great. She deserves 5 stars. With both professionalism and kindness she listened well and made me feel more in control of my treatment plan. Even the screener (the first "appointment") put me at ease and was very positive. Cons: Provider availability and the billing policy. With such a high demand for therapy (understandable given world events), available times are often limited. You are also billed a flat automatic fee whether you speak with a therapist or not. So, if you have trouble scheduling or the provider's available times are limited, you've lost those fees. Summary: At this time, I don't recommend Cerebral for anyone who needs more consistent therapy than the casual once monthly structure is set up for. Otherwise, fees and scheduling hassels make the traditional office visits more useful. Fortunately, Cerebral is in its early days. There's still time for the company to reevaluate and improve.

Very frustrating time with my care coordinator. It can take so long to hear back and they did not pay attention to what I needed. Multiple times they assigned me new providers that did not have the certifications for what I needed in my state that can fit my schedule since I’m mostly available on weekends
