As a new client of cerebral
As a new client of cerebral, I am so disappointed. Things had started off well, I met with my prescriber and my care counselor the 1st month, my meds were adjusted and off I went, hopefully. At the end of the 1st month I was told that my provider would be switched and that the new prescriber would like to meet with me before she honored the 2 refills the original prescriber had already prescribed. Mind you, this is day 29 of 30, my pharmacy can't refill my meds and the new provider has zero availability until July (it's May)!!!! Days of back and forth and still no resolution. I gave up my previous provider to try something new during the pandemic and I feel they have now caused my more grief and jeopardized my health rather than helped it

Definitely NOT Recommend for severe cases
UPDATE: IF YOU HAVE MENTAL ILLNESS(ES), REGARDLESS OF SEVERITY, DON'T SIGN UP WITH THESE PEOPLE! THEIR MEDS AREN'T SAFE AND YES CEREBRAL, I WAS ONE OF YOUR CLIENTS, IN CASE YOU WANT TO MARK THIS AS UNAUTHENTIC! I'M USING A FAKE NAME BECAUSE YOU GIVE ME EXTREME ANXIETY
If you suffer from severe anxiety disorder, panic disorder, severe depression (sprinkled with some PTSD and insomnia), this will NOT work for you.
First and foremost, they charge you right after you just sign up. It takes forever, I mean FOREVER, to schedule an appointment with a care provider. Even though you haven't had an appointment, they still charge you, mind you.
Secondly, there is no way I am able to express myself and really delve into my traumas and the list of conditions that I have in 30 minutes. I used to get 1-2 hour sessions when I could go to therapy in person, and sometimes that wasn't even enough. Also, the "WhY arE U dePresSEd?" question from one of the care providers after I told them why I am so miserable all the time, pissed me off. After that little session, the provider prescribes me with medication...after I made clear that I DON'T do well with medication. I was expecting some sort of copying skills or something. But alas, I wanted to give it a go. Big mistake.
Speaking of pills, they just throw random pills at you. CEREBRAL, ONE OF YOUR PILLS ALMOST MADE MY HEART STOP, ELEVATED MY BLOOD PRESSURE THROUGH THE ROOF, GAVE ME MAJOR DIGESTIVE PROBLEMS AND TRIGGERED ANXIETY AND A PANIC ATTACK (and I hate having those, I really do). STOP PRESCRIBING RANDOM STUFF TO PEOPLE. YOU ARE GAMBLING WITH PEOPLE'S LIVES FOR GOD SAKE! LISTEN TO YOUR PATIENTS WHEN THEY TELL YOU THIS KIND OF STUFF. YOUR MEDICATION ALMOST KILLED ME!
Anyways, I let them know about this serious side effect and that I no longer wanted to take medications, and to cancel the refills. Of course, the coordinator took a day to reply back with "your provider would like you to visit the ER as that can be symptoms of something serious." No s, Sherlock. Thanks for telling me something I already know. So, I guess they thought about this deeply and backpaddled. Now the provider wants to see me ASAP. Guess what mf, there is no space in your calendar. So, I couldn't schedule anything. After letting them know that their availability sucks (they are always booked), they sent me a random invite, with the most random day and time. I told these guys that I work full time. At this point I was fed up, so I declined the appointment.
I WANT TO MENTION AN ISSUE WITH REFILLS, what a pain. Cerebral, if I told your coordinator multiple times to cancel my darn refills, WHY YOUR COORDINATORS WAIT UNTIL THE REFILLS ARE SHIPPED TO TELL ME "SoRry No rEfunDs, they are already shipped, whoopsie daisy." COME ON! I DONT WANT THE DARN MEDICATION, THE THING ALMOST KILLED ME! STOP ROBBING ME!
This whole ordeal made me extremely anxious and suicidal. I felt hopeless and robbed. I have no money to be throwing around like this, and no one can help me cope with these illnesses. Nevertheless, thank God for my husband, he is a way better therapist than this app (he is not a therapy or medical professional, mind you). WAY BETTER THERAPIST.
In conclusion, I cancelled my subscription. But let me tell you something about this, you have to sent an email in order to cancel. But, Wait! There's more. They are currently taking their sweet- time to process the cancellation. THEY WILL NOT, I REPEAT, THEY WILL NOT LET YOU DELETE YOUR CREDIT CARD AS A PAYMENT SOURCE OFF YOUR ACCOUNT. So, be aware of that.
Again, if you are severely ill, I would not recommend it. I honestly don't think that that their staff is trained to deal with severe cases, and they appear to be understaffed (because of the availability issues). Also, they did somewhat helped me with my insomnia. They gave me a pill for schizophrenia that works wonders. It knocks me out in seconds. So, that's a plus. At least I can sleep. I also wanted to mention that these people aren't rude or anything, they just don't listen to your requests.
All in all, if you are severely ill, I don't think Cerebral is the right place to go to seek help. Again, if you have a mild/moderate case of depression, anxiety or both, this might works for you.
Also, no Cerebral, I will not contact you about my experience. And hurry up and cancel my subscription, stop holding my credit card hostage.
UPDATE: INSTEAD OF JUST CANCELLING MY SUBSCRIPTION, THEY OFFERED ME A 30%DISCOUNT OR "PAUSE" MY ACCOUNT FOR 3 MONTHS?! CEREBRAL, LEAVE ME THE F ALONE! STOP HOLDING MY MONEY HOSTAGE!!! CANCEL OR I'LL REPORT YOU AS FRAUDULENT! CEREBRAL, YOU ARE STRESSING ME A LOT! I ENDED UP WORSE BECAUSE OF YOUR SCAMMY, MALPRACTICES!!!

Charges you to see how unavailable they are
I just completed the registration process, which STARTS with a $30 fee (which apparently is discounted from $55), only to find at the end that the soonest they can start talking to me is two months from now. They only have one provider available in the entire state, and the soonest I could start meeting with a care counselor (separate from the provider), is also two months away.
Cerebral - if you don't have enough providers to take on more customers, don't charge us to discover that. You must have loads of chargeback disputes to deal with, and I'm hoping not to have to be another one.
update: They did contact me when I requested a cancellation and refunded the initial charge, which I appreciate. I still think they should be waiting to charge until the point when a user actually schedules their first appointment, and clearly Cerebral needs to recruit enough providers to be able to offer services in a reasonable timeframe.

Run away!
If I could give this company zero stars I would. I needed help for depression and grief. I checked out all of the online sites and decided to try cerebral because I liked that I could talk to a therapist weekly and a provider monthly, and explore meds that might help me feel better as well as being able to message any time I wanted. They got my money, I got one visit with the nurse (who was really nice and understanding). Together we decided to try some meds to deal with my insomnia and see if actually sleeping might help with my anxiety and depression. Then I had an appointment with a therapist. I sat in front of my computer and watched the icon stating that the therapist was offline for 20 minutes before giving up. 2 hours after my appointment my app said I was a no show. I contacted them and they said she was there but the app said I wasn’t. They apologized about the “technical difficulties” and tried to schedule another session but all they had available was a week away and I’d be on vacation. So, when I return 10 days later my meds showed they had been delivered but we couldn’t find them (our dog found them somewhere on our acreage and brought them to the porch the next day). I tried the meds which had the opposite effect on me, keeping me awake and making me feel really bad. I contact them about a therapy session and the bad meds. The soonest session they could come up with for me was a few days out and late in the evening around the time I start my bedtime routine. Now I’m getting seriously annoyed and I decide to cancel before they charge me again. After I put in my cancellation request they offer me 50-75% off, lol. I told them that I would consider staying if they would give me the next month for what I had already paid since I didn’t get anything but bad meds from them. She said she’d speak to her manager. Nope, they came back with 50% off. HORRIBLE COMPANY. They obviously don’t back up what they’re doing and only want more money. How can you not honor the person that pays for your service? I got ahold of Teledoc and got a visit the same day with an awesome licensed psychiatrist. I canceled my card attached to the cerebral account after reading about people being charged after they quit to hopefully avoid that. All I can say is save yourself some grief at a time when you need it the least and seek help elsewhere.

They drag you through hell if you decide to cancel your subscription
I had a good experience with a therapist via their platform, but the customer service is awful. At times it's hard to reschedule an appointment and they charge regardless of the actual visits. But the worst part came when I decided to pause or stop therapy. Even though my therapist supported my decision and I notified in advance my care team consisting of a therapist and care coordinator, Cerebral charged me for another month. Then I had to go through a nightmare of a conversation with the dedicated "cancelation line". It was very clear that the sole purpose of staff that handles cancelations is to charge you more and not to refund anything if you were improperly charged.
Update 4.28.2021. After I filed a claim with my bank, Cerebral finally refunded me. It happened after endless frustrating communication with the cancellation email (Kristine) and my care coordinator. One of the arguments of my care coordinator was "you're ineligible for a refund since you have already met with your care team this month". However, the only "meeting" I had with them was exchanging messages in chat regarding the cancelation and didn't have to do with my care.
