Just got done with a 7 day cruise and got off the ship today. I didn't realize that if you don't purchase the photo package while on the ship, all your precious photos are deleted and you have no chance to do so. You would think with all the messages they give out on the intercom and the papers they send to the room with info, they would atleast warn guests that they need to purchase the photos before getting off the ship. Now what should have been a really fun day after an awesome week of family time has turned into heartbreak. I've been trying to contact them for hours and no one can help me so my whole experience has been ruined as I'm just so upset I lost all those cute family photos of my kids and i that I wanted to purchase. Hope this reviews helps someone else to not make the same mistake I made in thinking you could get your photos at the end.

I took a 5-day Eastern Caribbean (the Bahamas, Princess Cay, and Grand Turk) Christmas cruise with my two of my adult sons (19 & 21) and my teenage daughter.
It was our first cruise and we had a really lovely time. The employees were all kind and personable. Housekeeping especially was very nice. Booking the trip was very easy, I did a payment plan over the year to pay. No issues at all. We booked our flights separately. The only thing I did have trouble with is the address of the cruise terminal and the actual terminal number was listed NO WHERE in our documents. Highly frustrating when if you need to get a Lyft or an Uber this info is paramount. I had to finally call to get it.
Otherwise, check-in super easy and fast. We had two room, one for the boys (outside cabin with porthole windows) , one for me and my daughter. (outside cabin with ocean view). Both were very nice, comfy and no issues.
Food was good throughout the ship, especially the nightly restaurant. We only rarely did extras (drinks here and there, and we ate at the fancy Italian restaurant once, which was very good) Otherwise we stuck to the included food and drinks. Mostly this was fine, though I do wish if we only get free lemonade and ice tea, that those beverages actually taste like the real thing, instead of half water half the time. My only other real 'complaint' is that the (expensive) wi-fi we paid for was very poor and in fact, we had to purchase additional $5 per person chat feature on the Carnival app in order to 'text' each other, which seems kinda shady.
We did not pay for any excursions, as they seemed very overpriced. We did our own thing on the islands and had a great time. We also aren't really dinner show people, but we did like the pools and other activities on the boat.
All in all, while I found cruising is not my preferred way to travel, it definitely was a fun and relaxing trip and Carnival made it easy. If I cruise again, it will be with them.

Worst customer service
I have taken a couple of cruises with Carnival and had a nice time. But the one time I didn't because my room was filthy and outdated they could care less. The customer service is extremely poor. I have pictures that they don't even want to see. I thought that they would at least give me credit to use on a future cruise, but they wouldn't even do that. I had already booked a cruise on a different boat before I was told no. If I had known that before hand I wouldn't have.

excursion fraud
The way the excursion crew reacted to our complaints about a botched excursion amounted to fraud. A simple refund of $60 would have cleared things up but they refused even though they failed to deliver on all three parts of a 3 part excursion. We spent 5/6 hours on a bus and never reached the beach. Buyer beware!!

Never book a cruise on Carnival unless you have no respect for yourself.!
The first day at sea half of the dirty carpet was soaked. They we will fix that. they did but we had huge blowers in our room. We told to shut them off so we could sleep! The room and bathroom smelled like sewage All week long. The smell made us sick. So for their error they gave us $50.00 dollars off! What the F!.Then the food was so bad we were sick the whole week. the worst part was we had lobster on Thursday at early dining. The lobster was not cooked so we only had a couple of bites. We had to leave the dining room and go to our room and we both got very SICK! My husband was really sick with a temp. of 101 so I called medical and a nurse finally showed up.My husband was given two medications one for nausea and one for Diarrhea. Then we had to stay in that smelly nasty room for 24 hours. That made us sick. So the great Cruise Services Manager Robert Karman gave us an offer off our next cruise of $97.00. That was a big insult to us! What we want and deserve is a Full refund for our cruise! We had to save our money for this cruise and you let us down with your awful ship! The shows were very low class! Just want our refund back. Karen Huston

Good - with the Proper Expectations
I have sailed with Carnival 4 times, most recently in March of 2022. We will sail with them again and most likely will enjoy ourselves again, but primarily because we have proper expectations and making sure you know what the cruise contract says. Get everything in writing.
Carnival is not, nor does it bill itself as a luxury cruise line. But if you're going just to get away and have a good time ... you probably will. Certainly, we have sailed on other lines (and paid more) and had better food and better entertainment. If those things are most important to you make a different choice for your next cruise.
Also, NEVER buy the travel insurance offered by Carnival ... AON is a complete scam and I think you'll see the trend in these reviews that it's the insurance that causes so many of the poor reviews. Yes - Carnival should pick a better vendor to work with and that's why I took one more star off.

I bought the travel insurance that carnival offered and had an accident on my way to my cruise. I am greatly disappointed in carnival cruise line for using this neglectful company Aon. They have no good reviews they do not show good faith nor do you get to speak to anyone or do you get paid for the coverage you are supposed to have! Carnival allows this lie to be sold on their site and I am holding them accountable for every penny that this has cost me.
